Killzone 2 Multiplayer Complaints

I think its a great game, but i have my own complaints.

1. Aiming down is virtually useless. The aiming is very sporadic, and using blind fire is often more effective even when across the map, as its easier to handle the recoil.
2. Ranking system is incredibly short, with only 12 ranks, and only requires a couple games to get to the next.
3. No party system (self explanatory)
4. Sprinting has essentially no limit. It lasts for over 10 seconds, and takes a split second to recharge fully.
5. The lag, which is far from unplayable, but makes hitting running targets a very hard task, especially when sniping.
6. Tournaments. At first, they begin like a great idea. Sign up for a tournament with you clan, get set up, and be notified when your match is ready. The room is premade for you, and you play the match. Whats wrong with it? For one thing, if you dont show up, you get the win. And even if they show up a man down and you win, they still win. Thats all i have to say about that bullshit. It may have just been a bug, maybe the people that were scheduled to play hacked the system, i dont know. The fact is, the system is broken.

... Ok that whole tournament thing sounds like bullshit. Does it actually work like that?
im not sure if it "works" like that, but its what me and my friend experienced in my first 2 games, and im never going to try again.

I have no interest in Killzone but the makers will probably fix those problems with patches or downloadable content.

Been playing for the last 6 hours, lots of fun! however agree with the aiming system, can be a little bit jolty, and the lag (shoot someone with a shotgun and about 4 seconds later the game recognises it) but its getting better!

Huh? I meant the pressing enter thing and then it makes a thread. To get rid of it so it doesn't happen to people any more.
lmao, my apologies. I assumed that you were referring that these "suggestions/complaint" threads happen too frequently, which is why you said that it "happens a lot lately". It made sense at the time, lol.

Out of curiosity, what region are you playing from?
I've been on European servers and I have had no lag, and tournies work beautifully, as far as I can tell.

Also, parties can be made by joining a friends game and forming a squad. Takes about 2-3 minutes from starting the game, to playing with 4 people online.

As for the aiming, you should fire in bursts my friend :)

Although I do agree with the rank, I have amassed 4 hours of online play and Im already a captain. After I have all medals then what else is there for me to unlock? :(

Btw, I heard there will be a patch along soon to sort out a few bugs, add new maps and it is rumoured that there will be vehicles added. But you have to find your own link cause its 4:39 in the AM and I need some beauty sleep.

American. Like i said, i never said it was unplayable. I wont even go so far to say its bad. But when you play a game like killzone that has some large maps, you could use the less lag. However, if you are getting NO lag, then i dont even know if thats possible.

When i think of parties, i think of matchmaking with friends. I never was a fan of making a room, and waiting for people to join, or having my friend to join someone elses game, then join that room.

aiming isnt hard at all, but it coincides with the lag issue, as the aiming button is useless, when it should enhance accuracy. Like i said, i can hip-fire a guy across a huge map, which is absolutely stupid, as it is more useful than actually aiming.

Guerilla Games seems to be on top of the patches and such so hopefully some of that will be fixed. As for ranking up quickly, I can't really say that's a bad thing. Why should I need to spend 20+ hours or so just so i can use the Primary scout badge when it takes even more time to unlock the secondary badge and then even more time on top of that to unlock the ability to combine each secondary with a primary?

There does seem to be some lag in the larger games sometimes where me and some other guy will trade shotgun shells to the face for a short while before we both suddenly die while reloading. It's frustrating but the ease with which you can exit and find a new, less laggy game makes up for it.

I just like having more replayability with my online games, like the prestige ranks in the cod games. Killzone 2 just seems to not have that much else to do once you get through the easy-to-get unlockables.

Lies! You are not allowed to speak ill of the holy system saving Killzone 2, for it only farts unicorns and rainbows and spreads worldpeace with tits to all that play it!

Sarcasm aside, I anticipate some vehement disagreeing...

I'm very interested in this thread because if the game has significant multiplayer issues then I would be hesitant to buy it given the short single player. I have been interested in it, but with a buggy, lagging multiplayer mode that doesn't appeal to me lashing out on it. I shall wait and see...

Huh, I've had no lag thus far ('cept one game, but that was my fault for downloading at the same time) and I've only been playing 32 player games.
The aiming hasn't been a problem for me, use the sights for long shots, shoot from the hip for close combat.
Ranking system does seem a little short, but then that doesn't bother me because I never play much online, so it means I can actually unlock everything without losing my social life.
Sprinting isn't really a problem, not sure what you're moaning about with that one.

Haven't tried a tournament yet, sounds life you just encountered a bug.

I played a few hours online so far (had to finish up DOW2), and Ive noticed a few of the problems of which you speak. Most noticeably the aiming, and the hitting people on the run. At first I attributed these to being my fault, but as it progressed I seemed to be noticing a pattern...hopefully it will be patched.

every new game thats realesed seems buggy at first remeber when gear 2 came out. it was laggy the ranking system was broken and the lancer was made the only useable weapon (that actually seemes effective from most ranges). then the patch came and things got better (there not great but there getting there)

like i said, dont get the wrong idea. To me, Killzone 2 is easily the best FPS on the PS3 (exclusively), it just has problems like any other great game does.
