Hello, there! I am Cdub and this is my review for Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the Gameboy Advanced (yes they still make them!). Let us begin!
To start off I just want to say, I have never played a Kingdom Hearts game in my life. That being said I want to say that even though I've never delved into the world of Kingdom Hearts, CoM's storyline is very easy to get into. It's about a typical spiky hair protagonist name Sora who end in a giant castle called Castle Oblivion, with Donald the Duck and Goofy hanging onto his coattails. They're only a few lines into the game and wouldn't you know it the shit hits the fan. They end going on an adventure to find Sora's friend Riku and end up hurdling through countless Disney movies to get there. Now that the story explanation's done with let's move on to ACTUALLY REVIEWING IT.
I'll keep this short, the graphics are incredible for a Gameboy, the battles only sometimes get boring, the boss battles are usually very fun, and the plot line is alright. Although I must admit, as much I like this game the base of the storyline sounds like it was made up a stoner four-year-olds. I mean REALLY Goofy? And while we're on the subject of Goofy, while the hell do the give him ONLY A SHIELD? Did he aspire to be a Captain America? Did he get to the weapons pile last? Or are the designers just hatin' on Goofy? I mean Donald gets a mace and Mickey gets a....... coat.
Bottom Line: Rent it, if you like it buy.
