Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep volume 2

So Bith By sleep final mix has been out for a short while and like all final mixes, contained a lot of extras that they decide not to release outside of japan. Seriously, I don't see why they can't just release this stuff as friggen DLC! it'd make em more money and everyone gets a go at it.

But enough of that; just like all the other final mixes, there is a teaser for the next game in the series hidden at the end. I was over at siliconera and this article was the first thing I saw:

The final cinematic that you probably unlock the same way as the teaser in the original BBS (seriously two teasers in one game?) shows clips from other KH games and a little more of what happened to Aqua. The cinematic ends with Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Volume 2

So it looks like there are another spin-off KH game in the works, and please don't start bitching about KH3, we get it!! The question now is what platform it will be on, although I'd hazard a guess that it would hit the PSP, maybe PSP2 seeing as the first BBS was on the PSP and it kinda makes sense. The DS already has it's fair share of KH spin-offs and is getting a new one for the 3DS so maybe it's a hint to a PSP2 title?

As someone who has never played Kingdom Hearts, I picked up Birth By Sleep out of curiosity and to see if I could "get into" the series. I ended up really enjoying the game and so it managed to turn a non-fan into someone who is curious in pursuing the other games. This teaser makes me more excited to see a sequel to this game and hopefully I won't be too confused and it will be placed some time where I don't need to recap a bunch of lore and whatnot.

So...thoughts? Who's excited, what would you like to see, discuss.

And please...no bitching about Kingdom Hearts 3...we get it. It'll be made after FF Versus 13 is done so be patient.

i fucking hate kingdom hearts, my great Daniel was playing it on his PSP in class and i frowned at him, and he was like better that learning, and i was like ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN KINGDOM HEARTS, and i got sent out for disrupting the class, why did Daniel not get sent out? he was playing his PSP in class, and he got a stern warning come on? thats not cool i was trying to help him learn and what ever.

I've stopped caring about the plot to Kingdom Hearts. It makes no sense and they're making it up as they go along. If the game looks fun I'll play it, otherwise I won't.

I might play Birth By Sleep 2 if they don't make you play the same game three freakin' times.

If there really is a BBS sequel coming out, then from what I gathered in the trailer you could be playing only as Aqua during the decade she spends in the Realm of Darkness.

Also, am I really the only one who doesn't find the story confusing?

Actually...there is a gameplay sequence in BBS Final Mix where you play as Aqua in that dark world she ends up in. But who knows, the game may start off there for all we know as a prelude to the rest of the game.

Always enjoyed KH haven't tried birth by sleep, but, I would enjoy seeing more of the series. I would like to see SE take a darker route if they haven't already.

Well like I said, according to the story she's in there for at least 10 years and it's quite possible that whatever that boss is in the final mix version is related to the castle shown in the trailer. Kinda like how in the final mix of the first KH you fought agains Xemnas.

Story wise, i completely understand it all so far. Totally. Any questions, just ask

Anyway, I'm pretty sure, as of Coded, that since Mickey and the Disney folk know where the original trio are (scattered and broken) that Sora's time to shine as their savior is now at hand.
Axel's a bit separate from that group in need of saving, so not sure how he'll fit in exactly.

Riku and Sora are currently in training for the Exam to be "real" Keyblade Masters (like the even need to.)
And hopefully Kairi is getting some training in or something, cuz i really want her to finally get some action in the story. PLEASE!!

Will I be missing out on anything if I avoid all the 'new' releases? Will I understand the story?

I say this, because I'm no-where near willing to buy all the games, and I really do not want to have to educate myself on the stories so that Kingdom Hearts 3 will actually appeal to me.

Well there is a 10 year gap between BBS and KH1, so it's easy enough to put something in there.

Anyway, I really hope BBS vol 2 shows what happens in Radiant Garden and the experiments that Xehanort and the other apprentices did to mess up the whole Realm of Light. And seeing the original bodies for Larxene and Co (and finding out their names too) would be a nice bonus.

And I really hope it'll be for the PSP, not the PSP2, I don't think I could afford another system any time within the year.

Well you're missing out on why KH actually happened without BBS, as that's the start of it all. Days isn't really necessary to the overall plot but it adds a lot of character development to all Org. XIII members and especially Roxas. You're not missing anything by not getting Re:Coded though, since only the last 10% are relevant. Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS should be important though.

Well you're missing out on why KH actually happened without BBS, as that's the start of it all. Days isn't really necessary to the overall plot but it adds a lot of character development to all Org.
