It's a very, very big maybe though, people need to realize this.

Well, if the female lead of Akira was meant to be a wooden, emotionless brunette, then I suppose Kristen Stewart is the best possible casting choice.

...Snark aside, I'll say about it what I say about a lot of games, at risk of getting badly flamed for it: Judge the movie on its merits as a movie, not on who made it or who starred in it. It's why I still buy games by EA and Ubisoft: as much of dicks they are, especially towards the PC gaming master race (which I am a reasonably proud member of; I own a Wii and DS but don't use them much), they still make a lot of really good games. Especially Ubisoft.

Are there any emotionally dead characters in Akira? It's been a while since i've watched it so I don't really remember. In all seriousness this would just be a stupid stupid move on their part. The majority of people who are going to see this movie are presumably fans of the original Akira and the only reason I can think of to put Stewart in it is to try and attract the Twilight fans which is probably just going to piss everyone else off. Do not do this Hollywood, I beg of you.

I'm just going to go with the theory thet they are trying to make a "so bad it's good" movie here. It'll have trainwreck appeal at the very least, and from what I've seen just might rival the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Never heard of Kristen Stewart so I had to check IMDB to find out who she is. Well turns out she was in Twilight which I've never seen so I then checked which other films she'd been in.

Well done Hollywood I'm now comparatively less angry about the Akira remake.

As for Kristen Stewart I hope she goes on to star in many more films that I can not see.

I'm more upset about the Crow remake personally, but this is gonna suck.

It's going to star Zack Efron for god sake, not to mention it's based in America!
