L4D2 seems alittle cheezy.

Now first of all I would like to say that I am as excited as anyone for L4D2.
Buuuuut some of the characters, and zombies seem a little corny.
When the opening on the demo started, it seemed a complete opposite of the original opening.
In the first L4D the survivors seemed desperate and alone running for their lives and barely escaping after a frantic shoot out.
In the new one they seem like they cant wait to carve up some zombies, or as Ellis so eloquently puts it "kill all sons of bitches."
This isn't necessarily a bad thing its just a little jarring considering the last game was so serious.
Sure there was a little comic relief every now and then with the tattooed biker dude, but you were mostly feeling desperate, and on edge.
If a clown zombie is running up to me while spouting gibberish I'm going to laugh if anything.
Im still excited about the game and cannot wait to "kill all sons of bitches" but im going into the game with a completely different attitude and it will be AWESOME!

Which do you prefer, the old way or the new way?

Yeah, Mr. I hate everything and Mr. Positive are not cheesy at all. The new survivors are more realistic in my opinion.

Ellis is a punk ass kid trying to act tough. What do you expect him to say?

"kill all sons of bitches". I never said they were bad characters, just totally different from the last 4.

You called them cheesy. I'm just pointing out the first four were very cheesy.

I enjoyed the first games atmosphere a bit more I am thinking. Games don't have to take themselves seriously all the time, but they should at least try to be original and avoid archetypes and cheap humor. Sure there are some funny things in L4D2, but I've got to say it reminds me a bit too much of Zombieland and Shaun of the dead esque things. I suppose the first one was cheesy as well, but it at least tried to be genuinely scary at some points.

I found the first one to be an average game that set co-op gaming back five years by having enough valve fanboys buy it that people thought gimping every player was good for co-op.

How L4D2 is any less "scary" is beyond me. Unless you're basing this on only playing the demo. In which case, I lol at you.

I'm looking forward to LFD2, as well as hoping they don't overdo the humor. I can't say which I prefer until I actually play the new one.

I'm also hoping a little that at one point they release the original survivors as dlc for the game, although I somewhat doubt it will happen.

I don't know why, but in the little clips I've seen I keep thinking of that teenager guy as the Scout from TF2. He even has a bat in one clip. I suppose both game are made by vaulve..

That's actually the main reason I want to play as Ellis while everyone else runs for Coach; Scout was my best class in TF2.

Well, they are from the South, maybe their view of danger is just.... off.

I'm really excited for it too. Killing zombies never gets old.

Isn't it supposed to be? If it's not then they failed in a big way, but if it is I say kudos to them, I don't think Valve's done cheesy before.
