Is it just me, or is Phelps of LA Noire incredibly tactless? He never ceases to surprise me, whether its accusing EVERY suspect of being the killer or by saying 'WHY'D YOU KILL HER?!' when I doubt the fact that this guy trimmed his toenails in the order he described.
What're all of your favorite little Phelpisms?

How he just waltz through a crime scene and picks up anything he wants and touches the dead body without any type of gloves. Also how he can search a house without a warrant...hasnt invested into a cell phone

edit: and he throws out evidence that could prove matt parkmans innocents!

It's set in 1940. There really was no such thing as forensics, so...his conduct in crime scenes isn't actually out of place.

Same with the warrant. Also, the CONCEPT of cell phones were around in 1947. Cell phones didn't really exist until 1982.

OT: I like how if you press 'doubt', Cole will say anything from "Are you sure that you didn't hear anything?" to "OH, COME ON! A NOSY OLD BAT LIKE YOU MUST KNOW EVERYTHING THAT GOES ON HERE! SPILL IT BEFORE I GET THE LAPD TO TEAR THIS PLACE APART."

Jewish guy at the start says he knows nothing of the man dead and his anti-semitism

Hmm- I think it's a little fishy that he doesn't know of an out-and-proud-anti-semite near him, it's possible, but I "DOUBT" it, let's press on this lightly(Press X)

"YOU LYING SACK OF SHIT YOU KNEW HE WAS A FUCKING JEWHATER AND YOU SHOT HIM IN COLD BLOOD! ADMIT IT YOU FUCK!"

*Facepalm*

What I was hoping for was something like "Hm, I find it a little hard to believe you *haven't* heard of this guy, considering our accounts of who he is."

Believe it or not, completely changing tone and flipping out on someone actually is a viable interrogation strategy. You know, "bad cop". It scares people, puts them off-balance, making it hard for them to come up with lies. You have to remember, most people don't know police procedure, especially back before cop shows and reality tv became popular. Walking up to a suspect and saying "We are going to arrest you and throw you in jail unless we like what you say" was perfectly fine police work. People have to respect your authority. Otherwise, they'll lie all day long and walk all over you.

So does it seem a little out of place when he goes from being all demure and polite to Renegade Shepard? Yeah, but its not wrong.

That's a standard tactic in policing business. He's supposed to browbeat a suspect to get them on the defensive and slip important information. Real cops and detectives do that.

I think it's funny that Cole is personally not bigoted, but is totally willing to toss around racist, sexist, and anti-semitic remarks to either get in a suspect's comfort zone or totally weird out a witness.
