I am not sure if this goes on everywhere but I know here on all the Canadian stations all I can ever seem to find is running, swimming or gymnastics. If it is like that where you live are you ever disappointed to not be able to see so many of the events. I know as a judoka I would love to see some of the fights but it is never broadcast I have to find streams on the net and those are incredibly unorganized so I cannot find any of the fights I would want to see. Anywho back to the point anybody else get disappointed by the lack of diversity in the broadcasts.

NBC's coverage is pretty horrible in the States, as well. We get slightly more sports, but only "USA vs. _______". If the US isn't competing, they move on to something else. Really makes it hard to enjoy the events.

I really wish you guy's could access BBC's iplayer. We have every event covered, live and recorded for every day of the olympics. Even the specific events like "Round 3 Team China Vault" are highlighted so you can jump straight to the action. T'is a thing of beauty.

Yeah, it's really bad. I actually stopped watching them because of how they're covering it.

For those who don't know, they only cover US events, they don't air it live (it's on a six hour delay or so. They do this so they can get more people at a later time to watch to maximize revenue from advertisements) yet they pretend it's live, and they spoiled Franklin?s victory before they aired the actual race. And we can't see it anywhere else here in the US because NBC has full control of broadcasting it. Just a fucking joke all around.

Yeah its stupid how they restrict the Olympic games to a few events. I mean I don't care too much about the Olympics (add hockey and then we'll talk) but they should at least try to cover as many events as possible.

I know that. The Winter Olympics are street ahead of the summer ones. I'm just suggesting a way to increase the watchablity of the summer ones. In fact lets just move the current summer Olympics to winter and replace all its sports with the winter ones and just have the winter Olympics ever two years.

I'd watch so much sepak takraw if they added it to the Olympics. But I do love the summer games. Especially football and gymnastics.

are they at least still acting like the US will end up with the most medals overall?
because i heard they did that in 08 and it was rather hilarious since everyone knew that from then on it will pretty much always be china.

I've been looking for Judo coverage every chance I get for the last few days. Just checked NBC's (United States) schedule and apparently they aren't showing it at all. There's a little bit of boxing, and TKD later in the week, but that's as good as it gets. What are some good places to find streams?

NBC claims that they're streaming all of the events live on their website. I just have a habit of putting the telly on in the background, and thus can't really dedicate my computer to watching.

Largely, yes. It's not so much that they expect the US to take most of the medals, it's that they make you feel that the events that they show are the ones that "really matter". And, of course, how we decide what "really matters" is the events that the US is favored to do well in.

I moved from England to Canada, the olympics coverage here, in Canada, is awful. It's reasonable to only show interest in the events Canadians are participating in but I honestly don't give a shit about Judo or Boxing...

The only events I've seen that didn't have a Canadian in was a tennis match between Roger Federer (<---famous Swiss tennis player) and Alejandro Falla and a swimming event with Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte (both famous U.S. swimmers).

When I was watching the Beijing olyimpics, back in 2009, I saw a much more diverse amount of sports regardless of whether British athletes were competing.

I haven't been watching much of the Olympics this year, but when the Beijing Olympics were on the BBC covered everything, you could get live feeds of every event that was going on at any one time using the Red Button service. It was good stuff, I can't imagine being so restricted to only watching a couple at a time.

Here is Australia we get a lot of swimming, rowing and cycling. Other events are seen when Australia is competing in them. Personally I think they should show more of the women's beach volleyball.

The TV coverage is decent here, but there are only two channels that airs it so there's 7 online streams that we can follow for other sports. I've watched a lot of archery so far.

Which station are you watching? I've seen quite a few events that don't have a Canadian competing, though it most likely varies between stations since a single station doesn't have a monopoly on broadcasting Olympic coverage like NBC does in the U.S.

I'm so sick of gymnastics and swimming. Ping pong and Judo look more interesting. Too bad NBC is focused intensely on team USA. Why are they the only station that can broadcast Olympic events in the US?

I'm watching it all online. Dutch tv has 12 live streams, so I'm following pretty much everything.
