Long story short;
-Normal battery,
-Degraded over time,
-Got to the point where it decided it was at full charge when it had about 5 seconds worth in reality,
-Ran laptop without battery in for a little while,
-New battery works fine,
-Suddenly decides to not accept charge when battery is in (as in the chargelight on the side doesn't come on).
-Removed battery to check if it was the charger/fuse
-Charge light turns on when battery removed
-When left for about 30 mins, and off, starts accepting charge, stops accepting as soon as I turn laptop on.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I use my laptop as a desktop so mains power is sort of crucial. (I know to run down the battery every now and again).

Thanks

If its under warranty, send it back stating the laptop battery no longer works as to how it should. Other then that, it's possible its the motherboard, but if its running fine w/o battery and using main power then all signs point to the battery. What model laptop is it?
