Hello there. =)

I need some help with building a laptop from scratch, I've been in need of a laptop for a while now and soon I'll have my chance to finally get one. But I want to make sure that I get the best (or at least the best within a certain price range) construct that I can so I have something that can easily work through what I need it to, this mainly being photo/video editing and gaming with a few other things. (I'll get into the details later when someone's helping. x3)

If there's anyone here willing to help and talk through, probably step by step, a somewhat clueless tech-minded person as to what they should get for this and don't get annoyed easily if I ask probably stupid questions about things... then it would be greatly appreciated! Also if this is better done through the personal messages then please don't hesitate to send me one! =) I may just take a little while time to time when replying, both here and messaging, a few things are keeping me busy but I really need to plan out this laptop build sooner rather than later.

Thanks.

Building a laptop from scratch? I doubt you'd have much luck with such an endeavor, laptop components both aren't too available on the marke, and they can't be put together as you please one by one.

So if you go the laptop route ie., if you need the mobility, your only option pretty much is to go for an already built one.

Yeah, building a laptop from scratch isn't a project for a beginner and/or anyone who doesn't have money to burn.

Here are the major drawbacks:

- Each component you choose massively lowers your options on other components
- Components themselves are a pain in the arse to get ahold of
- Building/repairing laptops is shitty, fiddly work
- You'll end up paying at least 50% more than off the shelf

It's just not worth the hassle, time or money.
