For me, I stay up because its quiet at night, and there are alot of interesting people that I can talk to and game with at night.
Besides that, its so easy to stay up late, whereas its hard to wake up early =/

It's the middle of the day where I am, but when I'm surfing the internet at night it's usually because I'm not sleepy.

I post at night and early morning because that's my awake time. I go to sleep at around noon and wake up at around 7 pm.

Because someone is wrong on the internet. [http://xkcd.com/386/]

I like arguing and it's hard for me to fall asleep if I feel like I have a good point to make. Nevermind that I'd make better arguments if I were more awake.

I post late at night because I stay up late at night.

I stay up late at night because my life at this point is directionless & purposeless, so the night hours are functionally almost the same as the day hours, so why not.

Because I can't sleep, but I'm too tired to actually play games, so I talk about them (and random bullshit that's tangentially related). I wouldn't stay up to post; it just so happens I usually can't fall asleep until around 5:00.

Because it's the only way I can speak to my friends in other countries.
Time zones are a fickle *****, ya know.

I love this forum, when it's late-late night/early-early morning here in GA, USA it's also mid-day or early evening or, late afternoon or whatever in the UK, Europe, Australia...No matter what time I post or what time I check the forums I know something new will have been added.

Also I have a horribly erratic sleep schedule.

I usually go to bed around 5ish (not tonight though...need to be up at 5 so there's really no point in sleeping), so I occupy myself with the interwebs.

Why? For one, I can't stand mornings...long ongoing period of nothing, it's a waste of my time. A lot of the people I know online are in other timezones, so it's better socially to be up at night. Also, I get privacy and relative freedom at night, and can do stuff without working around other people.

Also, on nights where I need to get work done (assignments and whatnot) I'm already accustomed to the lateness and can get a lot more work done than other people in the same situation.

...that makes me sound all lonely and anti-social, but it's not like I don't have other friends that stay up late (not AS late though), and most things get planned for the afternoon or night anyway. Downside is I DO miss out on doing day-specific things a lot since the stores around here close ridiculously early and I do have stretches of getting 4 hours of sleep per week when school/uni gets involved. But oh well.

I typically go to bed at 4 and wake up sometime around 11.

Most days I don't need to get up to be on time for work, and nothing good really ever happens in the morning...so I write it off.
