LOL

With that out of the way, let's get to the actual post.

When was the last time you had a real big laugh at something from a game? Whether it was a bug/glitch of non-intended comedic value, or well written dialouge, I'm curios!

Mine was just a few minutes ago in Mass Effect 2 (playing the series for the first time) and there was this callback to an event in the first game. A human civilian, who had spent the entirity of ME1 trying to get a refund at a Turian-owned store in the wards, showed up once again. Two years had past and he hadn't given up yet.

Reading the Shadow Broker archives in Mass Effect 2. Especially for Legion's gaming records...

"Accused of using hack, reaction times too advanced for organics"

In fact, a lot of things in Mass Effect 2 made me laugh out loud...

One that always sticks in my head is from Dragon Age, talking to a lovesick elf:

Elf: 'I don't know if I should tell you, you probably wouldn't understand'

Grey Warden: 'Just tell me before I kick your head in'.

Almost forgot....

Fallout 2 with low intelligence. The whole game is full of the funniest dialogue ever seen in gaming.

Hooker: 'Ooh you were incredible'
You: 'ME EDIBLE!'

BioWare writing=Gold

Would've quoted myself, but it seemed a bit redundant.

In Undead Nightmare when John Marston declares "You eat babies." I almost pissed myself when this exchange was going on. I was crying; I was laughing so hard.

When my friend discovered you could dive out windows in Black Ops. I'd known for a while, but actually seeing someone else come plummeting out a little window at speed is easily the funniest thing I've recently seen.
The dive in general is just good for a chuckle. I think I've used it maybe once tactically since I got Black Ops. The other 24,999 times were for giggles.

Ahh yes, this is a un one. Me and my friend were playing ffa local just to screw around and stuff, and as i was dodging the dogs he had called in using a speed hack from one of the online game modes you can download. anyway, we were running, and we discovered that you can do this massive leap over a barricade and off a cliff. We laughed out load for ages.

The last I really laughed my ass of at a game was when my friend and I created a character know as (for reasons I can't fathom) "Rumby Bear Shepard" in Mass Effect 2. Rumby Bear was a 65 year old black man with a bleach-blonde walrus mustache and a haircut like the villain in "Avatar". His purple eyes were spaced about 6 inches apart and his mouth so high up, it was almost touching his gigantic, flared nostrils.

Hilarious running jokes ensued.

Well, the last time I laughed for a game would be when my Aztec army was on an unstoppable warpath across the face of the world, but I don't think that's the laughter we're looking for.

I suppose the most recent funny game-related event would be the last time I was playing SSBB with a friend. We were playing on the Great Fox level, and this rather Rube Goldberg-esque chain of events had me laughing uncrontrollably. He chucked my Ike into a bumper, which lobbed him onto another, which sent him into the precise path of rolling crate (at this point he, rather reasonably, starts Taunting), and then finaly into a Bob-omb (that had literally just appeared) which sends me clear across the screen. However, unluckily for my rather distracted frined, A barrel was sitting near the top of the... tail thing and I managed to hit it just hard enough to make it start rolling, barely up the tail. Gravity then takes over, and it rolls into his Kirby, promptly exploding.

Agreed. A large part of me thought the scene was really sad with the extinction and all, but his absolute insistence that he was doing the right thing was hysterical. He was so matter-of-fact about it, as though explaining to the sasquatch something he hadn't realised. I do like marston's voice acting, for just such moments as these.

I think that would be Portal. Thanks Steam for offering it for free!

Awhile ago I was playing World of Warcraft. I was doing a quest where you have to interrogate zeppelin dock workers in Orgrimmar until you find one that belongs to a secret cult. One of them responded to me with this:

"I'm too dumb to be in a cult. Ever since I fell off one of them zeppelins, right at the back where the blades are. They took a metal bowl and made me head hard again *raps on his skull with a metallic ring*...but then the lightning done come..."

There was a time recently while playing L4D at my friends where a smoker snatched me, the screen went incredibly glitchy and I ended up hanging off a ledge several blocks away from my team.

You can only sit and laugh when shit like that happens.

I can't remember the most recent one, but one that stood out to me was in the Pitt DLC for Fallout 3 when you're trying to ind Wernher:

NPC lady: You wouldn't dare attack the slaves!

You: Yes, because I don't use violence to solve my problems.
