Am I the only person who seems to have played on of the best video game series of the 90's the little big adventure series? I've asked many many people and none of them have ever even heard of it or played them. There must be someone out there who has? If there is any one out there who's looking forward to an LBA3 it doesn't seem like there will be a sequel in the near future.

Thanks

I finished Twinsen's Odyssey, but never got far in the original (didn't it have limited save games or something?).

It was one of my favourite games back then, but I don't think it really needs a sequel. It would fail financially.

I think the best legacy these games could have is in motivating other developers to make original titles where the protagonist isn't a burly, outnumbered soldier fighting to save the world.

Holy hell. LBA 2 is my favourite game ever, no hyperbole. I don't have time to write about it now, but I am working towards a review of it at some point. the first one...didn't love that so much. Getting hurt when you run into walls seems a bit uncharitable on the part of the developers. Still, they're both excellent, and clearly the inspiration for the name of Little Big Planet. Maybe.

what other game could seriously pull off throwing balls at enemies to kill them and still be a mature challenge, like u say some of the best gaming of the 90's

The getting hurt by running into walls was very gay but you quickly learned how to move correctly. It'd be good to see a 3rd one come out there are rumors but apparently it's not in the pipeline atm. There does seem to need to be a big revival of the adventure games like LBA and Monkey Island or even a re release of the old ones I would imagine that there would be a market for them because they are some of the best games made in my opinion.

I never really played more than a demo of LBA 1.

LBA 2 is one of my favourite games. I remember that I was so gutted that I had to look up one tiny bit in an FAQ. There's some buried treasure and I followed the instructions but just could not find it anywhere.

I wasn't a big fan of the isometric inside levels. But the outside was fantastic. I recently put the demo on my PC and I have to say it's as good as it ever was. It just has this unimaginable charm to it. Sadly I've lost my actual copy, I've still got the huge box but can't find the disc for the life of me!

I'm still not sure about LBA3, sounds like a bit of a pipe dream. Things have moved on a lot since then and I think they're going to struggle in finding a balance between the classic LBA and current gameplay demands.

Well I played through both 1 and 2, which seems to be rare. Odd seeing as they were both amazing games, full of very great and innovative concepts. From Changing personalities on the fly to best suit a situation (teaching me what discrete meant). To getting down a sort of rhythmic timing in order to hit things. Superb voice acting, and story telling, even by today's standards that seemed to draw you in only making the witty humor that much better. What I liked alot was that nothing they did seemed odd, it all sort of made a messed up seance, whether you were fighting Dr. FunFrock's evil elephant machine things, to his soldiers, to odd hotdogish things. The immersion was great, It felt like you had few friends and the world was sort of out to get you, even though you were fighting to save them. Leaving you a lot of the time needing to trick people. The one thing they did best of all to me, was the sound effects. I know they are kinda lame and cheese, but I still love the *booing* the ball made, or the satisfying puffs you hear when you punch someone. While I wouldn't stay in sporty or aggressive mode for to long, I did kinda like the sounds going with discreet. Truly a great game and I would get the sequel the second it dropped.

I didnt like LBA for thousands of reasons. One of them was the fact i didnt quite understand it, was too young.
