League of Dynasties

I've recently bought Dynasty Warriors 7 on impulse, and I kind of like it (I have my flame shield ready, don't worry). What really surprised me is that it kind of felt like I was playing a single player MOBA. Think about it, you play as a badass hero unit, you're in a huge arena with multiple paths, you fight alongside armies of creeps & fight opposing creeps that're led by opposing hero units, and you go to point A, B, C, etc. until you get to point X, Y, or Z at the end where your objective is. Anyone else get that feeling?, or am I just high?

TL;DR The missions in Dynasty Warriors feels kind of like single player MOBAs, anyone agree?

Makes sense. I guess you could say it's an early pioneer (maybe) of the MOBA genre since it shares many elements with games like DoTA, LoL.

Ehhhh, I've always considered the series to be more an evolution of the "beat'em up" games (Double Dragon, Final Fight, X-Men/TMNT/Simpsons/etc Arcade games). You've got your dime-a-dozen guys that can be a little dangerous in groups if you're not careful along with your big tough guys (lieutenants and generals in the DW franchise), and each level has a boss baddy at the end that can (usually) kill you in 2 to 3 hits (depending on what difficulty you're playing on).

Just for the record, though, DW7 was terrible...and this is coming from huge fan of the DW series. =P
