L4D, because that never had melee weapons. I hate melee weapons in multiplayer games, there's always the stupid team mate that runs in front of you so they can try to beat a horde to death with a frying pan.

L4D2 has Melee, more infected, Uncommon infected, more tiers of weapons, more kinds of weapons, special weapon upgrades, more throwables, more special items, more campaigns, more game modes, more variety of set pieces, and one really cool survivor (Ellis). L4D1 has 4 really cool survivors. L4D2 has everything L4D1 has, and then adds a ton of stuff on top, none of which has a negative effect on gameplay. And pretty soon, with the first DLC, L4D2 will have all the original survivors, giving L4D2 a clean sweep. Valve has done good.

Versus thread thingy!
KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!
I thought that bullshit was almost dying, but you just have to try and bring it back, don't you?
Not very nice :O
No, it is, since it adds nothing to threads except spam. The sooner all of the things like that die off, the better.
Useless spam on a versus thread.

Putting crap on more crap is still crap.

Well despite the fact that I own the watered down Australian version of left 4 dead 2 I enjoy the variety in campaigns (As opposed to going through various city outskirts...at night) the less cliched for laughs and more believable characters (I freaking LOVE Nick in l4d2, but my favourite is still Louis) the variety in weapons, the advanced AI director, I love scavenge, the new special infected are great and it's nice that this time it has a coherent plot (Despite the fact that you end dark carnival on a helicopter, the helicopter supposedly crashes after the pilot turns and then you start swamp fever on a train. Is it just me who wants to find out why?).

-Ellis.

That man is pure gold.
I'm assuming he was either talking to Rochelle or the stock car?

Well, if Left 4 Dead 2 was released as Left 4 Dead 1 instead of having separate games, I can guarantee you it would have gotten some of the highest reviews of our generation, sadly, it's own reviews were hindered by being a sequel and therefore people being unable to judge it with objectivity. Anyway, Left 4 Dead 2 is better.

Not a fan of either of them, but I'll go for the second one because it has an AK47.

Games are never officially badass until they get an AK.
Give me a G36c over an AK any day. The AK in L4D2 is bad ass though, especially with a laser.
I miss my COD4 G36C. One of the reasons I'm thinking of going back to that game instead.

I'm talking about threads, in general. Also, how are all versus threads bad?
They encourage flame wars.

A machine gun with a chainsaw on the front beats out an AK-47 any day.
Hooray for pointless posts about guns from games that aren't even in the same genre of L4D...

For an ON TOPIC post:
I prefer L4D2, and I've played both. I like the day time environments. Since L4D isn't really a scary game, all of the night environments are kind of pointless. And people finally found a way to port L4D into L4D2 :)

I'd much rather take one of the most reliable assault rifles in the world over a over-used german rifle...
And why a G36C? Your not a freakin' commando or anything go for the full fledged G36 and get the extra barrel length and scope...

True, I do prefer L4D2, although I do miss the original four.
But hey, at least The Passing's coming out!

I'm gonna totally be the first to say the original L4D 8D
First off, obviously because I have not yet bothered to get the sequel yet.
Second, I dunno... the first don't have day-time maps? And is just a simple generic American city/suburban/rural landscape instead of the Southern states? (Though I guess the... people... living in those states might be quite frightening in an Infected state)

And though I've yet to be proven wrong, Ellis just strikes me as some stupid hick : /
Coming from a valley full of stupid hicks (albeit the Norwegian kind) they annoy me greatly.
The other three, namely Nick and Coach, strike me as rather gold though.
I'll just have to wait and see when I try it out myself.
