With (I'm assuming) 2 episodes left of the second season of Legend of Korra, what would you like to see happen? For me the show's been a bit of a mixed bag but still good enough to keep me watching.

Some points:

- Have Korra have a major epiphany about how she's been acting this season. Have her see that she's been an aggressive, warmongering entitled brat for most of the season. Make her realize she was about to start a freaking war! The last few episodes have been explicitly pointing in this direction, so I'm fairly confident they won't cock it up.

- Have Mako finally end up with Asami and let that be the end of the god-stupid love triangle. They're both sweet and likable characters, just let them be together. Maybe even a scene where Korra sees that they're better together than her and Mako.

- Establish something leading us to the third season. The first season finished in a way that obviously showed they weren't greenlit for a second season yet, but I think they've got enough backing now to make a third one. There's some speculation about a dark avatar being created through Vaatu, and I think that'd be cool if done properly.

- By God, please let it be that Lin Bei Fong isn't the asshat she's seemed to be this season!

More?

Not quite, there are still 4 more episodes left however they will be showing 2 per week meaning it will end at the end of November. I pretty much agreed what the OP had stated while I got these to add-
Judging from the synopis of the last episode, I think Korra find a way to pernamently bring balance to the human and spirit world but in the process end the whole Avatar altogether (maybe she become the new Rasha to keep Vaatu in check). Also I getting a feeling tha Unalaq will somehow fuse with Vaatu just like how Wan fuse with Rasha (heh maybe he become a Dark Avatar).

Not likely, as they've long since announced two more seasons after this.

I'm hoping for:

A big reunion of every avatar spirit to help take down Unalaq/Vaatu in the spirit world. The Avatar has been thousands of people after all. More likely Korra will just go through (bust through to the) portal to be able to bend in the spirit world. Doesn't mean the other avatars won't show up though.

I can already see a few twists forming with this plot. The writers have proven that they are actually good at what they do. Here are a few Twist theories I had considered:

1) Unalaq is planning to kill Vaatu. Vaatu's influence has created dangerous dark spirits all over the world. Unalaq has taken it upon himself to find a way past Wan's ineffective barrier in order to kill Vaatu outright using the combined energy of the portals. The Avatar is only necessary to open the Northern portal. In the event that Unalaq cannot handle Vaatu in combat, Vaatu's presence would require the Avatar to intervene anyway. A desperate but well-intentioned plan

2) Asami is the "evil" mastermind Mako is pursuing. She sabotaged her own company in order to appear helpless and victimized so that she could persuade Varrick to pick up the financial slack. The tanks were never stolen. She paid off the Triple Threats. She's always talking about saving her family business, after all. She might be facilitating a resurgence of the Equalists but this is less likely.

I agree that the Vaatu plot is cliche ridden and predictable.

"Oh, a being of pure evil, sealed for 10,000 years 9,999 years ago? I bet the villains are trying to free him. I bet the heroes will fail to stop them until they've accomplished 99% of their master plan, and hostages will be involved."

I'd claim I was clever for predicting all that, but from the second I heard the Wan backstory it was all painfully obvious.

The Republic city subplot is much better, and my favorite thing about the series so far. Varrik is an awesome, atypical villain, and the steampunk feel of the setting never getting old. Even that one has the downside of every established character turning into a moron so that Mako can shine.

I've loved season 2, and defended it quite passionately against people still starstruck by AtLA, but compared to season one it just has more weak plot elements.

I've stayed completely out of Korra this season, so I can binge watch the thing the weekend it finishes. However, from what I hear, the romance elements are likely to piss me off.

Honestly, after that crap Mako pulled in Season 1, he doesn't deserve Asami. I hear Bolin has someone, but in absence of anything else, I'd love to see Bolin and Asami get together, while laughing at "Forever Alone" Korra and Mako.

Not really, but that's pretty much what such stupid drama does to my mindset. Regardless, Korra has a lot of maturing to do. It's funny, as I'd peg her personality as more of a firebender. If they do a Season 3 (assuming they didn't address it in Season 2), I'd like to see Korra's spirit bending vs Koh (as the main villain).

Mild spoilers for last few episodes ahead.

If there's one thing Im sure of, it's that Unualaq's twins are going to pull a zuko and side with team Korra in some dramatic way. I've been suspecting this ever since Unalaq turned out to be the bad guy, because why else would they even be written into the story? The only noteworthy things they've done so far were that comic relief romance with Bolin and chasing Korra on the sea for a bit. The massive telegraph scene showing just how little Unalaq cares for them only made it way more obvious.

I also have this theory that Zhu Li, Varricks assistant, is going to pull a similar maneuver on Varrick. This one is a little more farfetched as it is entirely plausible her only purpose was comic relief. But unless I missed it, we haven't seen her once ever since Varrick went full Palpatine, did we?

My main hope is that not everything gets wrapped up at the end. I don't think Avatar is best suited to one book story arcs. With Last Airbender there were three seasons geared towards a single end goal, and I'd like to see Korra go the same way. If they totally defeat Vaatu and restore sunshine and happiness once again then it's going to be tricky to have something bigger and badder come along for book 3.

I like the theory of a 'Dark Avatar', that could be a nice way to create a consistent adversary for the next two books.

My other hope is that Beifong stops being such an idiot. Yeah guys, you all fought alongside Mako against Amon, but he is TOTALLY the mastermind being all these awful crimes, right? Beifong and Asami would definitely believe that theory, right? Suuuuuure.

Young versions of Aang and friends time travel to Korra's time to show her how its done! Seriously tho I would settle for Korra not being a massive ***** and Mako picking a girl already. I would have happily stopped watching a long time ago but my girlfriend watches it so of cause I have to watch it with her. That being said each time I am forced to watch it my love for TLA grows and I already loved it so I guess I am thankful for that.

FYI if you are reading this with the intention of replaying to tell me I am wrong or that I just hate it becasue others like it then don't. I am glad that people actualy like it and I don't think anyone else is wrong just because I think the show is complete shit so lets just agree to disagree.

I want that subplot to continue further into the next season... mostly because I feel that not only is there more to this subplot that we've been seeing so far, plus I kinda don't want to see this subplot ended so suddenly like fan's already figuring out that Unalaq was a bad guy Day 1...

OT: I never liked predicting Season finales, especially when I'm right in the end... (Still like ya, Varrik, even if I did predict your "true" motives...) So, for now, I'm just going to sit back, relax, and worry about why they wnet that way in the story after hearing how others feel about the season finale...

What I want? Surprise, seriously, both TLOK and TLA lacks surprise elements, they have some here and there, but I want something big, kill the nice kid who's the spirit world for example. Make Kora lose and die and we have to wait until the next Avatar to make things right. Just surprise me and don't make another stupid cliché happy ending.
*thinking* How about... Unalaq "dying" in the spirit world after the battle during the Harmonic Convergence? Otherwise, keep blaming Nickelodeon for not making them take that "extra risk" in terms of surprises...

I hope I am not the only one hoping Varrick is not actually the evil mastermind, but is being manipulated by his assistant who is sort of the real power behind the throne. I just like Varrick as a character, don't really want to see him be evil.

AtLA ended with a villainess having a complete, and seriously played mental and emotional breakdown.

LoK season 1 ended with a murder-suicide.

Yeah, both of these things happened to the villain, but they were still revolutionary for a nickelodeon program, and I can certainly say I didn't see the last one coming. XD

I agree that both stories are mostly cliche, though.

Well, I know there are 14 episodes in this season. Also, I heard that Grey Delisle, the voice of Azula, was going to voice someone in this season. But, so far, I don't think she has any character. I'm expecting that person will show up at some point and kind of look forward to it.

Also, I read Lin Bei Fong is supposed to play a bigger role next season. Not sure if the current plot will continue in to that season.

I have no predictions for the finale. I can't really see where it will go and have no hopes, nor do I plan to make any predictions right now. Other than Una'laq's children turning on him.

I'd love to see Korra 'die', you know like Buffy did, and thus 'awaken' a new Avatar while she's gone.

Make it Azula and Aang's (great) grandson.
-Because, lets face it, Aang seems like he was a pretty bad father (like Goku) and I could see him being a bad husband as well.
Not 'mean' per-say, but he did get married to the first set of boobs he saw, and that rarely works out.

Have him voiced by Jeffrey Combs.
Because JC is a badass.

Speaking of CURRENT EPISODE SPOILERS!
.

Does anyone else wonder if they're going to bring back the old gang now that it's been established that humans can choose, or are allowed to, stay in the spirit world?

Next season would be a lot more interesting if Lin Bei Fong traveled with Korra to the Spirit World and meet Toph Beifong.

IF SE3 is suppose to be about 'family', it be cool to learn who Lin's father is, and if it was good enough for Star Wars...

I seriously can't think of a single person Toph would legitimately be with.

Its just like...... not her personality IMO.

Also, it was confirmed we would learn more about Lin's family in season 3 and 4, so its likely we will get our answers then.

I personally like the dark avatar idea and im almost 100% confident that is what we will see.

Think about it, Raava CRUSHED vaatu with the avatar state and bending. Crushed him so badly that, unlike their other fights that continue with a stale mate, he was removed from the picture FOREVER without outside assistance. Thats GODLY power. Vaatu would know he would lose again to an avatar if he just broke out and had a fight with them. He needs a dark avatar to match them. Its almost the only way he COULD succeed baring some weird plot device we havent seen before.

I think the dark avatar is a clever idea and can lead to some very interesting questions. If (Which i expect it will) it happens I think it would be a good climax for the series.

The idea of a dark avatar doesn't fly. The original avatar got his bending from the lion turtles, not from Raava. So even if Vaatu fuses with someone to make a dark avatar, they'll only be an avatar in the sense that they are a vessel for a spirit. They still won't be able to bend all the elements, which is where pretty much all of the avatar's power lies.
