Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes has promise, definitely. It looks almost like a new-gen Four Swords. However, it only has three, so it might be odd if there's multiplayer... what are your thoughts?

Maybe? I never had anyone to play Four Swords with, so I can't really say. I played the singleplayer on Gamecube, and that was alright.
It's Zelda. If you liked a Link Between Worlds (they're reusing the engine and assets) you'll probably like this one.

Well, at this moment, I don't much like the look of it...

But I was pleasantly surprised at finding A Link Between Worlds brilliant, so I'm not going to pre-judge another top-down Zelda before I've played it.

I'm skeptical about it. While I'm a massive Zelda fan, I'm not sure about playing this sort of thing in single player (I don't have 2 more people nearby with 3DSs who like Zelda), I'm also not sure whether a Zelda game comprised entirely of dungeons is desirable. It's usually that balance between puzzles and exploration that works for Zelda.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about it from people who played it, so that's something. However, I'm definitely not nearly as excited about Triforce Heroes as I would be for any new Zelda release. Every time a new Zelda game gets an announcement, I get super excited. When I first saw the unveiling of Triforce Heroes, I did not feel that rush of excitement.

For me personally, the Four Swords games are the weakest entries in the Zelda series. Four Swords Adventures is still a pretty good game, but the original is pretty mediocre compared to the rest of the games. Granted, it's unfair to say that Triforce Heroes is just another Four Swords, but being a multiplayer Zelda game, I guess it's hard to separate the two.

I think it could go either way. It may be a pleasant surprise, or it may be kinda lame. Aside from the original Four Swords, no Zelda game has ever let me down. I'm hoping Triforce Heroes will be good.

Agreed with the folks that are hoping it'll be good. Though I am kinda happy it's coming out on my birthday :p TBH I wish there were a few more Zeldas with the wind waker art style. 'Tis cute :3

Maybe. It's probably Four Swords, but with three Links now. If you have two buddies who are also into Zelda-like games, a good time probably awaits you all. If you liked playing Four Swords Adventures alone and with a GC controller because none of your friends could afford GBAs and link cables, you probably will be able to relive that experience on the go. (I'm printing out a "forever alone" face to wear whenever I can't get a Wifi connection or good partners.)

I still don't like how Nintendo assumes were all big babies and would fight over control of the third Link if there were only two players. (I've read several comments on this site alone that say this is likely a deal breaker for couples, unless they can find that third wheel in person or online.) It could have been a good puzzle mechanic if the two players had to strategically swap control of the third character at points in the game.

Not my cup of tea. I think I'll wait for Hyrule Warriors 3ds so I can play as Zelda instead of
If you like it, good on ya, though.

Besides, four swords just seemed like a pain in the butt for me.

I know this much for sure:
It's certainly fun to watch.

I want to play it myself, but the multiplayer makes that a but difficult.
