After the bad taste left in my mouth from Dragonage, I had enough time on Sunday left to play something short and light hearted. I have heard through Trophy hunting forums that the Lego Horizon game was incredibly short taking only about 10 hours to platinum. So I went with that, seeing as how I've not played many Lego games before and I liked the first Horizon game.

Well, yeah, this game is very light hearted and very surprisingly funny. It's almost like a kiddie parody version of Horizon. There are jokes all over the place and Aloy has such an enjoyable personality in this game that it makes me sad she is such a suck ass in the real games. It's lighthearted, the story has very little to do with the original game, but it's funny and enjoyable all the way through. The Lego theme is great, breaking shit and building lego buildings and stuff is really neat. The combat is incredibly easy but also very open ended that it's quite surprising.

By open ended combat, I mean you can use fire to ignite your arrows and blow things up, you can grab barrels of various explosive elements and chuck them at enemies. You can bait animal robots to charge off edges of the map and not even fight them. You get various power ups like rocket boots for a double jump that can also light things below you on fire (like enemies), you get freeze blasts, a big lego hammer for hulk smashing, all sorts of shit. And Aloy is only one of 4 playable characters that all have their own weapons and power ups. While it's all very simple, there is a lot of freedom to play around with it.

So yeah there isn't a lot to say about this outside of the biggest negative being it is WAY to short and small of a game for the $60 price tag. I got it off a gift card and I wouldn't suggest anyone buy this game until it's on a pretty good sale. But if you can get it for maybe 25 bucks, then yeah it's a great little afternoon killer.
