I'm tired of matchups being always the same. It's something like kratos vs master chief, or kirby vs samus. Usually pretty weak.

I say we step the game up.

Who would win in these battles?

1. Vivec(TES) vs Gandalf the white
2. Kushan mothership (homeworld) vs GTD hecate (freespace)
3. Duriel (diablo 2) versus ornstein and smough (dark souls)
4. chell vs alyx

Those are interesting? I'm sorry but if you're going to badmouth others creativity I'd expect more than that.

chell vs alyx... What is this? Most boring and tepid battle I've seen between two jabronis.

Gandalf the Grey. He fights Balrogs and doesn't afraid of anything.

Alyx. Alyx is combat-trained and experienced with firearms and fighting; Chell is not, as she's spent so many years of her life in the Science Facility, and overcame her obstacles through intellect rather than scrappy-ness.

Now....

Gurney Halleck (of Dune) VS. Ser Barristan Selmy (of ASOIAF);

BRAINIAC (of DC) VS. Galactus (of Marvel). Both are planet-destroying intergalactic beings.

I would love to see a five way fight between Jaime Lannister, Barristan Selmy, Arthur Dayne, Aragorn, and Geralt of Rivia. All five are considered to be the best of the best in their respective fictions.

Agent 47 verses Sam Fisher
(Hitman / Splinter Cell)

Or Ezio auditore verses Garret
(Assassins Creed / Thief)

Those would be interesting matchups I think.

EDIT:
Oh oh oh!

Commander Shepherd verses Revan.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!

My vote goes to Revan. Sure, Shepard has more advanced armour, an omni blade and ranged weaponry, but Revan has a lightsaber (or two!), as well as space magic which includes, but is not limited to:
Lightning Fingers
Force Chocking
Stuns
Force Pushing
Drain Life
Ability to make someone go insane

Sooooooo, yeah. Revan.

How about:
A Spartan (Halo)
A Marine (Starcraft)
A Space Marine (Warhammer: 40K)

For the space marine one, depends on range. Warhammer 40k has a chain sword, Halo has training/marksmanship. Any 40k hero beats Master Chief though.

Starcraft marines are like tissue paper.

OT: Hydralisk (Starcraft) vs. Xenomorph (Alien)

Aragorn, easily. He's got 80+ years of fighting experience in 20 year old body. Basically, more experience then Barristan in a body that's more fit then Jaime. Besides, we haven't seen them do much. Mostly we just hear about how great they are. Geralt may be a tougher fight, depending on how strong he is. I've only read a few of the Witcher books. I vaguely remember him taking a potion that let him fight for, like, three days, but Aragorn can basically do that anyway, because of his Dunedain blood, while Geralt presumably wouldn't be able to rely on curatives or potions. Unless he has some trick I'm unaware of (which is entirely possible) I would give it to Aragorn. It actually annoyed me that Martin said Jaime could take Aragorn in a fight. Not anything against Jaime, of course, Aragorn is past peak human.

Gandalf the Grey (book) vs Zodd the Immortal

Gandalf the White (book) vs Skull Knight/God Hand.

Berserker Guts vs Knight Artorias (before he went coo coo for coa coa puffs)

Jar Jar Binks vs. Snarf Snarf

Get ready for a doozy:

Goku vs Superman vs Squidward

I decided to put a spin on the generic "Goku vs. Squidward" debate by adding in Superman. Now let's get this ball rollin'! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

To what "boys" are you referring in the title of this thread?

Anyway, for an interesting teamup, I'd like to see Kamina VS Grown-up Simone from Gurren Lagann. Also Gordon Freeman VS GLaDOS. One stubborn mute person almost made her crazier than...well she already was. I can't imaging what going up against another would do to her.

So this thread is basically who would you like to see in a Death Battle? Ok, I can get behind that.

Jetstream Sam (Metal Gear Rising) Vs Henry (No More Heroes)
The Red Hood (Jason Todd) Vs The Winter Soldier (Buck Barnes)
Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) Vs Starfire
Shazam vs Gohan.

Gurney Halleck, hands down. He's got a shield to prevent the fast blade, training of thousands of generations worth of swordsmen. He also has a gun, and is Patrick Stewart. He even goes into battle carrying a pug, so yeah, he stomps Barristan. xD But Barristan would have an awesome line to say as he died.

Sephiroth Vs Sanguinius of the Blood Angels?

My money is on Sanguinius, simply because Primarch. They could go toe-to-toe with Superman and have a decent chance of winning.

Milla Maxwell (Tales of Xillia) versus Korra (The Legend of Korra)

Introductions:
Milla is de Lord of Spirits, master of the four elements and link between the world of the spirits and the worlds of the spirits.

Korra is the Avatar... and... uh, basically what Milla is, yeah.

Fighting styles:
Milla fights with both weapons and magic, and excels at combining the two. She can summon spirits to aid her. When pushed into a corner, she can activate Overlimit and unleash devestating attacks, including an incredibly powerful mystic arte.

Korra also controls the four elements and knows a thing or two about metal bending, but is not the type to fight with weapons. The Avatar state is her ultimate power-up and gives a great boost to her bending powers.

Weak points
Both women spend some time in a wheelchair due to severe injuries, though you could say Milla had better opportunities to overcome this and took them. Both women can be quite stubborn, but have both mellowed out a bit by the end of their storylines.

The battle
Milla would start with the advantage thanks to her sword, but Korra should be able to ruin that weapon eventually, since it's made out of bendy, bendy metal afterall. Korra's attacks seems to have a wider range and greater strength than Milla's, but Milla has the Four Great Spirits on her side. While it's no secret that Korra likes women, it's doubtful Milla's distracting clothes would have much of an impact on her. If anything, Milla's impractical clothes would give her a good laugh. Which... can be distracting as well, I guess. Finally, there's Overlimit versus Avatar State. Korra's Avatar State is allround great. She can enter it whenever she wants to and there is no strict timelimit. Overlimit, on the other hand, gives greater boosts but only last for a very short time. If Milla wants to win, she'll need to pull off a mystic arte and land a full hit. If she misses her target only slightly, Korra should be able to recover as long as she's conscious and capable of activating the Avatar State.

Conclusion: I'd totally play a Korra game made with the Tales engine.

Ceaseless Discharge VS Ganondorf

In practice it's hard to even get close to Ceaseless but Ganon has a bunch of weird non-specific abilities that differ from game to game.

Is this even a fight? Sanguinius broke the spine of a bloodthirstier on his knee. This means he had to pick up a daemonic incarnation of hate and anger that's easily 3 times his own height, hold it above his head while it's resisting, and break an incorporeal being like bane breaks a bat.

That and he has two wings, not just one.

CAPTCHA: Cool heads prevail. Pitty the blood angels forgot this one.
