This is a thread, as the title should suggest, about StarCraft 2.
"But Fiskmasen, what is StarCraft 2?" I hear some of you ask. Well, first and foremost: Welcome out from under that rock! This is the world, don't look straight into the sun.
StarCraft 2 is, as you should know, a so called Real-Time Strategy game. It's your job to pick one of three races (the bullshit cheap Zerg, the OP Protoss or the glorious Master Race, Terran) and then face off against other players in awesomely staged battles. To do this you - in typical RTS-fashion - must balance economy and construction of an army in order to effectively get the upper-hand of your opponent. There's a lot more nuance to it, but this thread really isn't an introduction to StarCraft 2, it's kind of assumed that you at least own the game. Don't own it? Well, go out and buy it goddammit. And then come back here, of course.
Now, what I'd like to achieve with this thread is basically two lists, one for the EU servers and one for the NA servers, of players in different leagues. One big problem with StarCraft 2, especially in the lower leagues, is the so called ladder-anxiety. Where you're actually fearful of the ladder. A particularily good way to cure that is to practice with other people in a less competitive environment, which is where a community like this really makes a big difference.
My goal is to have two lists, like I said, of your usernames (and character-codes) in-game, as well as your preffered race and what league you're in. Having trouble with pesky Baneling preassure early in the game? Send a message to a Zerg player and go a couple of practice rounds. Another good idea is to create "The Escapist" channels in the game. Here someone from NA will have to help me out as my account is EU.
Also, if there is enough interest here, we could set up some tournament style play.
