Let's talk about Elfen Lied

I saw the show when I was about thirteen, It was really, I mean REALLY bloody, but for some reason I wasn't freaked out by all the intense gore, I actually kinda liked it (and not in "that" way). I can't really explain all too well, I guess unlike some people, I find it kinda funny. Overall I thought it was awesome. But what I really wanna know is, did you like it, hate it, get creeped out by it, what do you think?

I remember enjoying what I saw of it. Can't really remember why though. I'll probably have to re-watch it again though.

I saw the first two episodes they were good but not enough to make me watch the full series.

It's probably the first ultra violent and nudity containing anime I've seen that doesn't abandon an intelligent storyline, unlike a lot of others which will have all the brawn 'n boobs and none of the likeable characters and coherant plot (if any at all)

It deals with a lot of real issues from the get go and it's handled very well

Manga actually finished the story, for better or worse. Overall it was an interesting story, but just generally not my thing.

I watched the DVD up to the child rape scene...and that was the end of my interest in the series. Period.

As soon as the attractive, silent girl with a dark side appeared, I lost interest. The show seemed like it would be predictable and cliche.

I didn't really like it that much.

I never finished it because its shaky plot, idiotic and hollow characters, and really really put of place fanservice drove me away.
But it touched on some good themes, had nice music, and good action.

All in all its just at average IMO and id only recommend it to people who are really into Anime like it.

well, i read the manga, and after the initial shock of the blood and sexual content, i found the story and characters engaging and thrilling. So I liked it more for what is doesnt initially do (set up story and plot that is deep) then what it does do initially (make a guro blood bath).

I enjoyed it. I was not bothered by the gore or the nudity, and I found the story interesting and touching.

It was my favourite anime at one point, up until I watched FLCL. I still really like it, as you can tell by my avatar, but not as much as I once did.

What's it about? I've been on the lookout for a new anime to watch lately.

The manga was good if not a little creepy, in a totally demented way. Casual dismemberment and mindfuckery aside (I believe there is incest later on? I can't remember) it's an interesting plot.

It was... good.
Not great, but the character development was nice, the backstory episodes were particular stand outs.

The fan service was a little ridiculous though.

I still really like it, as you can tell by my avatar, but not as much as I once did.
