Gentlemans, i present to you "Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain". its a classic story of a nobleman of the land of Nosgoth that gets murdered and return to life as a vampire and seeks revenge for this horrific transformation and a cure for his vampiric curse. The gameplay its similar to the Legend of Zelda for the NES (overhead view) but the plus of having many many ways to kill and eviscerate your enemies at your mercy. The voice acting is made by Shakespearean actors that say remarks or speak during the gameplay without interruption anything (in this day an age its a minimum)except for a few pre-rendered cutscenes whose graphics are a call back to the CD era of graphics for PC and Playstation.
For the Super Metroid and Deux Ex fans, the creators Yoshio Sakamoto and Warren Spector have announced a spin off of this series with the help of Swedish developers "Remar Games". The game called "Iji" could be considered the spiritual successor of both franchises selling points. Its a action-adventure-rpg and you can see Warren influence here, because the all the path regardless of what you want to customize leads to the end of the level so there is nothing wrong in going the path you choose and can lead to multiple playthoughs (not counting the secrets and many hidden power ups that Yoshio made sure there were available including the most useful skill that we call "Nano-Reconfiguration" and goes to show how well tough the level design really is)
The story revolves around a girl named Iji Kataiser whose father is a scientific, he invites his family to a lab but during the excursion suddendly an alien invasion strikes the atmosphere and kills most of the human civilitation. The father and a bunch of survivors manage to survive for a few months, reverse ingeniering the available alien nano tech and making Iji (who is in a coma) into an android capable to survive and use the alien weaponry. When she wakes up, its up to this girl to eliminate or convince the alien commanders to leave the planet and begin the reconstruction of human civilization.
Alexander Brandon wasn't available to make the soundtrack just like he did in Deus Ex, but the replacement actually manages to make the soundtrack a ride for fun and suspence, the final boss music its a wonder to behold, you will cry manly tears by the sheer awesomeness of the build up to this fight. If this all-star team doesnt get an award of a Game of all Time then there is something wrong with humanity, i tell you.
