It was not too long ago that I saw this series actually. It was about summertime or somewhere close to then when I watched all twenty five episodes of Welcome to the N.H.K. In short, I really liked it. I liked the characters, and the unique (well to me anyway) plot. It was really funny and I highly recommend it. But none of that really matters, what I want know is what do you think? Do you like, hate it, think it's nothing special, what?

All I know about it is that there is an episode which directly references Final Fantasy XI: Online, which makes me very happy.

It's an overall nice anime that can really hit hard for those that share in Satou's hikikimori ways. It's definitly up there among my favourites.

It is a great, and quite accurate, exploration of otaku-ism in Japan that I think any foreign "otaku" should see in order to understand how Japanese society really views such people, and if you go too far into it, where such obsession can lead. As Aby_Z says, it really does hit hard. Even I was hit pretty hard by a few episodes.

On a different note (and I can't believe I'm going to use this phrase), am I the only one who finds the first closing credits segment to actually be terrifying? It was way too trippy for me, and I actually got scared enough of it that I would stop episodes before the credits started. I know, I'm a chicken, but there was just something creepy about those blue things...

Terrifying? God no! That song was among the best parts of the show and I had to stop watching entirely after about 6 episodes until I could locate and get ahold of the full version of that song for myself.

It wasn't the song. The song does rock. It was the visuals. I really can't explain why, but there was just something about those dancing blue things that creeped me out.

It's in my top ten favourite anime series of all time. It's just damn entertaining. I wouldn't say it's perfect but it's a nice, easy watch

I liked it. My brother recommended it to me because he said it reminded him of me for the first few episodes (weird, but very cool at the same time.)

I saw the first episode of it, by my friends recommendation. It was pretty good. I would have watched the rest of the series provided my slim monthly bandwidth allowance would actually accommodate the needs of the average user.

A word to the wise, never live outside the availability of modern ISP.

I've been meaning to watch it for a while now but any time I try it hits a little too close to home.
