Alright, the DLC is done!
Honestly? The story was kinda heartbreaking. It does add tons of context. While the game indeed sends you back in time, it doesn't really change anything in the present timeline. I honestly think this was for the best, because for one thing I hate the whole butterfly effect in timeline plot device, and secondly it would've required the devs to practically re-design everything.
I do think there is a nice message here; Nothing will change the past, and what is happening. The best we can do is to keep going, and make the best decision for ourselves.
And the bosses have been constant pain after another. But hey, at least the weapon you get from final boss is really cool. Max-ed out version absolutely shreds the second black rabbit brotherhood fight.
They even added some extra dialogs near the end of the game and new ending. Normally I hate it whenever an alternative ending is part of the expansion, but this has enough content to justify its asking price. Although the new ending is a simple dialog choice at the end of the game, I'd say it's well worth it. Correction; There is no new alternative ending.
The new status effect, freeze, was one of the most annoying ones I've came across. Remember toxic from Dark Souls or Scarlet Rot form Elden Ring? Yeah freeze is LoP's version of those effects. Weirdly, there were no grindstones, legion arms, nor weapons that had freeze effect. WTF.....
It is 5 chapters long, which is just under half of the base game. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this expansion.
Maybe it's good enough to be nominated for GOTY this year? /s
