Tell us something interesting about the town/city/cave in which you currently reside.

Me, my home town of 100 Mile (B.C., Canada) was founded by a cult which still operates to this day, hooded robes and strange rituals intact.

Nothing much where I live at the moment. My proper home city had a fairly famous golf-playing tramp who lived in a bus shelter for years and the city cathedral is home to the tomb of Catherine of Aragon.

Supposedly Colchester, where I go to uni, was the first town in Britain to be referred to by name, mentioned by Pliny in AD77 (by an earlier name though, Camulodunum). The signs claim Britain's oldest recorded town.

My hometown, Lincoln, was an important Roman settlement, Lindum Colonia, where many retired soldiers lived. Also, the Cathedral was once the tallest building in the world.

Edit: How could I forget?! Lincoln was also the place where the world's first tank was created.

Hmmm...trivia about Dundee?

Our two senior football teams have the closest football grounds in professional football in the UK, and perhaps the world (but I can't be 100% sure on that latter part)

An interesting piece of trivia about Scotland is that our national animal is the unicorn.

My city is apparently the lighting capital of the U.S. (that is, it has the most lightening ever in the US).

I wish people would say what town or city they live in, it's more interesting to find out where the interesting trivia is about than just to know that somewhere in the US has the most lighting.

Liverpool.

Home of the Beatles, Liverpool FC, the Mersey, Cast and Brookside.

It was also voted the Capital of Culture in 2008.

And I was born there. What bigger claim to fame does it need than that?

Huddersfield.

Prime Minister Harold Wilson was born here.

Patrick Stewart is from a small town next to here, and is governor at the university. He apparently teaches drama lessons from time to time as well.

Birthplace of Rugby League.

The Sex Pistols' last two British shows were played at a pub in Huddersfield.

Well I'm from Cannock... so I guess the Cannock Chase is pretty notable itself. Umm... Stan Collymore was born just down the road from me and my dad went to primary school with him. Steve Edge out of Phoenix Nights is from around here. Other than that it's a pretty dull place.

Largest percentage population of bogans in the world

I think I once heard that we have a shit ton of stone fish, perhaps the most in the world, that information could be out dated though.

I'm still amused that my city's shitty league 2 football team managed to bet Arsenal last night xD (I'm really not interested in football so I wouldn't try discuss it with me, I just thought it was funny I had a load of Arsenal fans gloating to me beforehand like they thought I gave a crap.)

Erm... Morrisons (a supermarket for anyone who doesn't know) was founded here. Guy was from Bradford.
Patrick Stewart came from (and has a house) near here. I think it's Leeds though.
They dug a huge hole in our town centre to build a shopping market but the company went bankrupt so now there's just big hole in town.
There's probably more but I'm trying to look up what used to be where the giant hole is now :/

I'm not sure there's any interesting information out there about Essex, Vermont. We've got IBM's "Burlington Design Center" (they didn't even want to be named after the town they're actually located in), and the Champlain Valley Fair often has relatively famous performers show up, but other than that... I mean... Phish formed at UVM... if anyone's still heard of them anymore?

No trivia, not a damn thing about the "town" i live in. The "town" is literally just the damn post office & a few farms, that's it. Well one of the farmers is supposedly the biggest pot grower in the whole area, but I've never seen it.

Apparently the coastal town used to be the place where the family of the real "Alice" (Alice in Wonderland and the author based Alice from) spend their summer holiday in. Also it is said that part of the book was written over here aswell (also no, the author and the girl never meet each other over here aswell).

Uh, Hollola, Finland?

Not really anything. If something interesting has happened, I don't know anything about it.
