So a few friends and I were talking about the longest games we've finished. The game has to have an ending, so no Minecraft.

I played SW:KOTOR2 for 21 hours ingame. That was fun. Then there was the first Fable which i spent 11 hours, then Sudeki which I've played for 10 hours, which was awesome.

You?

I just put 146 hours into P3P and still haven't finished the male route. I'm currently playing through iDOLM@STER2 and have put in 56 hours and still have 6/9 routes to finish. That isn't even the full list of games with triple digits in the total time played. Games like MonHun Freedom and any of the Disgaea games, I don't think I want to check. In fact, I have over 3000 hours played in WoW as of whenever I stopped playing earlier this year.

I remember the days when I though an 8 hour game was long. Then I discovered Morrowind and JRPGs. Never turned back.

Since i suppose MMORPG's doesn't count, it's gotta be Mass Effect, played it about 13 hours straight. Whole game took me about 39 hours to finish, ME2 took something around 44 hours, not counting reloads after dying / game crashing.

I've been attempting to power through Titan Quest.
Titan Quest is, however, not a game which can really be powered through. It's telling me I've been playing for almost 60 hours and I've only just hit the expansion pack.

Not counting 100% completion, the longest was probably Dragon Age: Origins.
It took me about 56 hours to beat it on the first playthrough, and I didn't even do all of the sidequests (only most of them), and I only have the Stone Prisoner DLC. Second playthrough took about 50 hours, I think.

Then there's the Etrian Odyssey games. Those took me a really long time as well, but the games don't show the time played, so I can't give a number.

life, 32 years and still counting and if you say life ain't a game then you ain't playing it right.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

a pretty famous dude said that once :D

Final Fantasy VII through X.

I have a save on FFX that is at 220 hours, and a save on FFVII at 130 hours. FFVIII at 87 hours and FFIX at about 80.

In general, without side missions, they take about 70 hours to complete, each. BUt they all have so many side missions that you'd be a fool to not do (especially FFVII, there are some really nice story enhancing side missions in that.)

Persona 3 Portable. I think my first playthrough clocked in at something like 72 hours, and the last time I played my New Game+ file it was approaching 110 hours played.

One of the Mass Effects, I'm sure. At least 13 hours for each play through. Despite that, for numerous reasons, I have no ME2 save file. Due to the sheer time it takes, plus my unwillingness to do an entire game I have played over and over already, I will probably skip ME3 unless someone puts up ME2 save files like they did with the first game.
There's a whole website for that :p

OT: Not including MMOs the longest is probably skyrim, 100 hours into 1 save, and i havent even started the main quest or joined the legion/stormcloaks yet.

Probably Final Fantasy VII. My original playthrough of that clocked in at around 40 hours.

Well, technically it was my second playthrough, since first time around I powered through it very fast and was hopelessly underpowered when I reached the final boss. So I went back and did it all over again, taking my time and skipping very little.

If we're just talking about going through the storyline, then ignoring the very minimal time I spent on sidequests, it took me about 35 hours to get through Dragon Age: Origins and christ knows how much time I sunk into GTA 4 but I swear it had to have been around the 40/50 hour mark, that game was absolutely huge.

I'd say either the Elder Scrolls games or the Total War games, at least from my experience. As another user said, Titan Quest qualifies as well. Absolutely fucking massive games all.

Monster Hunter: Freedom 2/Unite:

400+ Hours in total. Close to 500. Monster Hunter is a massive time sink, but in a lovely way.
