Hi, i had a sudden urge to listen music that feels like ... How should i put this.. Let me think.. Something that would play when something big has happened and there is no going back in time .. Something that comforts but still feels cold & out of your reach.

This is not a good example but here it goes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZsvv7_OeZk&feature=related

I would be grateful for any songs that might fit into those descriptions or something along those lines.

Silent Hill 2 Soundtrack - Magdalene

Probably not the best, but it came at that context in-game ;)

Perhaps Enya's May It Be, from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, would be along the lines of what you're looking for?

Thanks i had forgotten the silent hill series, they've always had good soundtracks so i might not need anymore suggestions. :)

Edit: more suggestions would be great on the other hand..

This one is pretty good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytpo2TfRLa4

Try this website. I don't know of any specific songs from it, but I found about 10 different songs from this site when I was looking for music for my World of Darkness campaign

For when you want to be all military about it.

This has a bit of a "You're SO screwed" vibe to it,but I find it to be good for atmosphere.

Energetic, yet elegant. You know something's going down...But this music makes me smile.

Oh god, that song makes me sad. I know it's just a little over a minute long but... damn I get depressed when hearing that >.>

Anyway, as for atmospheric music signifying possible good change...

here's my contribution:

Then again, that song makes me feel saddened too. The feeling I get is a sudden heartbreak slowly washing over me as I realise there's nothing I can do to stop it.

Woops, sorry got emotional there >.>
Anyway, that one can work seeing as it's music and everyone gets different feelings from it but try this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGkG7n3-xj8], this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2Fh9_IQW-I&feature=related] or this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woJxHsZZvck&feature=related].
All of which come from the same "Most Relaxing Music" CD I have but... all the music off it makes me feel depressed or at least fuels a depression :/

Last one was pretty good, i don't really like the music from final fantasy series probably because it brings memories about playing those games. Not that i didn't enjoy them but i really can't think nothing else than final fantasy when i'm listening those songs.

Funnily enough, I discovered this supremely atmospheric piece today, and my mind was absolutely blown (ignore the random pic of Mr Aranofsky):

For those who don't know what this is, there's been a recent trend of taking well known tunes and using software to slow them down and create atmospheric pieces of ambient drone music. Well, in this case, a musician by the name of Birdfeeder took the Jurassic Park theme by John Williams and slowed it down by 1000% to create a majestic, soothing ambient soundscape reminiscent of Bladerunner. I downloaded the entire track earlier. It's nearly an hour long. From a 5 minute theme piece. And it's frickin' amazing.
Where did you download it? I'm almost half way through that 15 minute track and it is really good id like to hear the rest.;)

Or anything else by Bear McReary for that matter. Though I do think this is his best track.
I was going to say something by Bear McCreary, completely forgot about that track though, I was thinking more along the lines of this one ...

Am i the only one but does that sound a lot like moonlight sonata?

Good thing that i asked about this here since i probably couldn't have found any of these great tracks.

It was written to sound like Moonlight Sonata, the producers wanted something with a familiar sound. In fact that track is called "Battlestar Sonatica" ;)

Erm, not that I advocate downloading or anything, but I'm pretty sure the guy has put up a download link on Soundcloud. If you go on Soundcloud and search for 'Jurassic Park theme slowed', you should find a link that allows you to download the song.

Just so you know, that 15 minute video is an excerpt. The entire thing clocks in at around 54 minutes. It's an epic piece and is really great to listen to with a spliff I didn't say nuttin...
Thanks well already downloaded it from youtube and putted those 4 parts together, thanks.
