Looking for a snowboard game!

Im uncle to a 6 (or is he 7 now?) old kid. He's become rather obsessed with skateboards and snowboards lately, and as he like playing games: I thought I could get him a snowboard game. Now, it has to be easy, thus no skateboard games. Is there any games where you just ride down mountains, and not spending half the time in a half-pipe showing of McTwists and grabs? I think that would be ideal.

Any suggestions to what I can buy? PS1/PS2/Nintendo DS, please.

We have rules, damnit! The fat uncle buys the games, the thin uncle and/or mom/dad buys the other stuff.

Searching on Google with the intention of finding a good game is pretty hopeless, to be honest.

Snowboarding games where you just ride down mountains are probably going to be hard to come across, because most people buying those kinds of games want to be able to do frontflips and other cool stuff, y'know?

However if you were looking for something kind of arcadey you could try SSX. It's a little arcadey and sounds sort of like what you'd be after. If I remember correctly, Shaun White Snowboarding came out just a little while back, but I'm not as sure what that's like at all I'm afraid.

Yeah i have heard good things about SSX, there was one out not long ago, but i think that might of been shaun white.

Yeah on of the SSX games is your best bet in this department. I think there's a more tricks oriented one if the little nipper is more into flipping about. SSX Tricky I thinks its called.

The SSX games are good for an arcade style snowboarding adventure. It's lots of stilly tricks, over the top characters, and an all around good time.

Snawn Palmer's Pro Snowboarder is like Tony Hawk on snow. Pretty fun game, pretty easy to pick up and learn.

Dear lord! Don't buy Shaun White, it's worse than other snowboarding games, years older than it.
For the PS2, I'd try getting a hold of SSX:Tricky if you can, that's one of the best. Might be hard to find nowadays though, if not try any of the SSX games, SSX: On Tour was the most recent of the series.

SSX tricky was awesome - i think i may have to re-buy it for myself hehe - If you get an xbox 360 at any time Amped 3 was a highly overlooked gem

SSX3 being honest. Tricky was nothing more than an extention of the original.

At the Original Poster: If you want to get a game for your nephew that allows him to go down the entire side of a mountain from top to bottom (ok slightly linear path but) then get SSX 3.

I did actually see SSX3 in some shop - and I was about to buy it as I had heard of it before. Think I will try get SSX3. I couldn't live with buying this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE3A41DXC2w] for my newphew. No, no, no.
