Yep, I've had my 4th Edition D&D books for over a year now and I have abselutley no idea how to play. I've done a little research and I would preffer to play 4th edition since it's the books I have but I'm open to Pathfinder or whatever 3.5 edition if it's what you guys preffer.

Do you mean over the internet or in person. Cause if it's in person you might need to tell people where you live (not postcode, just country/city)

I'm up for both, I'm in Norway/Bergen but if it'd online it'd be preferred to be over Skype or someother form of voice chat instead of writing but I'll totally do anything. Lol x3

Dudeio;
It's nigh on impossible to run an RPG via the internet, all the dice rolling and fairness and ugh, it's seriously not worth the bother. Alternatively, look for your local gaming group or club, odds are you'll find some like-minded people who'd love to play games with you.

Remember, outside can be good sometimes as long as you stay out of the sun ;)

Yeah. Its just about impossible to play over the internet. Local gaming shops should be able to help you out.

Honestly have to agree with the others, it can be done but is usually so frustrating or hard that it sucks all the fun out of the game. I reccomend getting/making some friends at your local game shop and setting up a game with an experienced GM.

Good luck!

I use Google+ to run a game every week. I set up the dungeons on my bedroom floor and move the camera over to where my players can see it. It's a bit of a pain, but nothing unmanageable.

OT: You'd probably have more luck finding a 3.5 game. Rules for 4 are pretty unpopular as far as I know.

It's not really impossible to set up a game online - I use a rather spartan program called MapTools, but it's uphill work, and is best if you can be in a conversation with all the players, like an Xbox Live Party.

More important is that you find yourself a nice group. Nothing ruins a D&D experience like a bad group, and I'd hate to think of somebody thinking D&D wasn't fun because of bad luck with players.

I tried it once with 4.0 rules and it was fun and I know their unpopular but I'm ok with any D&D rules as long as they can tolerate someone that doesn't know them through and through. But I'm up for anything online if anyone wants to have me in.

I got lost up there somehow, what I meant to say was how I tried it before on the web and we used this program I don't know whats called, it's basically a board game table thingy with a drawn map where you can add houses/walls/interior stuff, bushes rocks trees.
Me with my drawing tablet would be drawing around everywhere 'cause it was fun such as strategic points, dinosaurs that would attack us (Our GM kept removing them ;I I thought they were a good idea) and so it was awesome.

But a friend of my older brother and an aquaintance of mine who I sometimes play online with has a keen intrest in the same thing and I'm hoping I can play with him.

I won't play 4ed. Will play 3.5. Pathfinder if i can remember how to convert the noncore classes into pathfinder rules, it isn't hard, i have just gotgotten. Incidentally i am better online than i am in person at the roleplay cus i feel less of a twat. PM me if you need another player for an online game who has nothing better to do but sit around gaming. Cheers
