Looking for video editing software..... help!

Looking for something simple... and at best free =D

Needs to be able to add still images to audio files. Easy to use would be nice, too. I am not too smart =p Told you just needs to be simple =D

Any recommendations?

you can place images along to audio files with something as simple as movie maker. Movie maker is a pretty bad editor however, if you don't know much about editing and all you want to do is put still images in with audio then that would be perfect for you.

Yeah, I know of Movie Maker, but that also seems to require me to install a bunch of other crap I don't want. I'm looking for a more standalone program.

Pinnacle VideoSpin worked well for me last time I used it.

I believe it is free. (Audio Codecs are free for the first 14 days, and the program is always free).

Windows Movie Maker is free and pretty good too.

Install what other crap? I never had to do that. The only problem I had with that was that it was really unstable until I changed some of the preferences.

When I go to download it, it wants me to install Windows Live. ave no option to choose just Movie Maker. I'm using Windows XP if that makes a difference, and it's NOT installed on my PC.

Strange, movie maker always installed along with windows xp itself for me. Is it that big a deal to install windows live as well? Anyway I'd suggest downloading what the other person suggested if you don't want to download windows live.
