yeah, I have resorted to flat out asking for friends on the net :/.

anyone know/recommend/found a chatty sociable mature (both in attitude and age) guild/clan/team looking for members? I am a huge introvert (get overwhelmed by large gatherings) irl but online much less so. As such its hard to make friends and coupled by the fact im always shifting between games its hard to make good lasting friends online (have like 8 in 5 years).

Before anyone says "well go to the bar" or "go to a gathering that you like" Im disabled physically so movement is pain

TLDR: im wonderin if anyone knows a group of people i would get along with online

If you are not only looking for gaming groups there are three relatively large and active social Groups on here you could try:

The Brovengers - Owned by Daystar Clarion
The Injustice League - Owned by PsychicTaco115
Escapist United Nations of Pure Fun - Owned by Caramel Frappe

I don't really know much about the first two except they have been around a while and are each owned by well known Escapists. The third is a lot newer but is also owned by a very well known member. We pretty much just talk about whatever we feel like. I imagine they are similar.

Perhaps you might consider joining one of those?

User groups are a great way to make some friends here. I'll second Legion's United Nations of Fun. We really just talk about anything and usually have a blast while doing so. Otherwise, hit up forum games. The serial killer game is a good way to get to know some people and a few other threads do as well.

My main suggestion would be user groups though. Just go looking for something that interests you and start talking.

I agree with Legion's three suggestions, particularly the Injustice League, I'm an admin there and we're always welcoming for new members as long as they aren't spies. Just a group of people who chat about random things and make the odd villainy joke. Really though, most of the user groups here are pretty friendly, so I recommend picking an active on which sounds good and jump in :)

Do you have an IRC client? the Escapist IRC is usually pretty friendly and we welcome new comers. It can sometimes be a bit quiet in there depending on what time zone you're from.

It's under #Escapist if you feel like dropping in. I'm there almost all the time. :D

IIRC, you also need to know what server a specific channel is on. Unfortunately for you, Sky-baka isn't smart enough to remember this.
Fortunately for you, I am!
It's the Chatspike server.
