This is the first released photo of the rumored Legend of Zelda wii game, i think it looks promising, the bright ghostly entitys calm composed face a powerful juxtaposition to the pained expression of link

What do you think?
I think the ghost represents the goddess nayru protecting link from the fires of his own hubris

Name me a main franchise Nintendo game that doesn't still have the same plot as the first game.

Spoiler your going to go around collect new and useful items solve puzzles ride a horse and save the princesses ass again, and that's why we love it

then why was Majora's mask one of the best? (i think) it was what made zelda great + interesting story.

I loved Twilight Princess, so hopefully this will be just as good, if not better.

Uhh I didn't say Majora's Mask wasn't one of the best although personally I never could get into it because I didn't enjoy the 3 day cycle.

But I have to argue that the game that made zelda great was the first. But I will agree Majora's story was the most interesting of all of the games up until that point as it didn't have the same plot as the last 7 games.

Some say that ghost thing is actually a personification of the Master Sword, but nothing is final.

Oh i wont disagree with ANY of that. too true. this is where, however, personal enjoyment tends to force people to agree to disagree. one of the main things that makes me enjoy games is a unique story. such as Bioshock, Mass Effect, Shadow of the Colossus, Ratchet and Clank, interesting things float my boat.

Kind of off-topic, but if the master sword is able to do that, then why is there almost always a stronger sword in zelda games? Case in point: Link to the Past. You get the master sword and sarahashaharlahrla goes absolutely apeshit about your accomplishment. A few dungeons later and you hire some run-of-the-mill swordsmiths to temper your sword into a new one. A few more dungeons later and you just throw the sword into a well to get an ever better sword handed out by some fatass fearie. A magical being that can make a better sword than the master sword by dunking it into some water, yet she doesn't think to apply the same logic and drown herself in the water to become somewhat presentable?

Kinda OT: I look forward to a game where the master sword truly lives up to its name and trounces all the other blades in the land.

Maybe I should have mentioned I was referencing that he was referring to the ghost person thing.

Of course it'll be awesome.

It's Zelda.
This, more or less.

And to everyone who's complaining about the storyline being roughly the same in every game: Good storytelling isn't about what you tell, it's about how you tell it. If you were to put the main concepts of Twilight Princess' storyline on paper, it would sound pretty weak. However, the way said story was told was one of the most beautiful things in gaming history. If you can look past the fact that "ur just savin teh princes again!" you can usually find a truly engaging storyline within the series.

And with this, I've hit 999 posts. Guess I should get back to work on what I've got planned for my 1,000th post.

I wholeheartedly concurrrrr.

Not to mention that Twilight isn't really about saving the princess. Zelda is in the same pickle as everyone else in Hyrule. They're all stuck in the twilighty stuff.

Twilight Princess's plot focuses more on aiding Midna really, Midna is helping Zelda, but she also has her own motives. Not to mention Link is kinda drawn into things against his will. Its less "you are the chosen one!" and more "holy crap I can lick my own genitals I'm a wolf!"

This is all assuming I remember it well enough, I may have some details wrong.

I'm sorry, but how could you not be impressed by Twilight Princess? Even if you didn't have much fun with it, it is a solid game, even if it was graphically last-gen.

Really, though, for this game, I hope they have a new character that is as captivating as Midna- though I hope they don't make Midna's role in the game just another reused staple in the series...
*looks at Navi*
OK, actually, fine. That zora-like spirit can have the same function as Midna. Just, please, God, don't make another Navi.

And when are we going to get bunny-Link back?
