Was just sat back and thinking to myself how usually a protagonist gets their special abilities from some horrible atrocity that has befallen them. So now I'm thinking: "If you could follow in the footsteps of some super-powered cripple, who would it be?"

Personally, having suffered a week long addiction, I'm gonna have to go with Alex Mercer's mutations from Prototype. The jumping from building to building is sweet enough but also being a hybrid of Venom and The Thing? Too cool, if you ask me.

I've been thinking that myself, and I think that he can drink water and maybe take showers, as long as he doesn't touch too much water. Throughout the game, Cole can stand in puddles and electrify them safely, so I"m guessing that he can handle small amounts of water...

I think Jak of the Jak & Daxter Series, (Speaking about 2 & 3 not The 1st one) Where Jak Is experimented on with Dark Eco and get insanely awesome Dark powers, Such as the ability to grow 15 feet tall and smashing up hover vehicles and people, Then in the 3rd game where he gets given Light powers by an Oracle and get powers such as slowing down time to less than a crawl, and able to grow wings from your back. Those are some awesome powers right there.

maybe the electricity keeps him sustained ... it's probably all he needs ... i mean think about it ... look at all the things he can do now ... i think it's safe to say his biology is a liiittle different to that of the average humans

and as for powers ... i'll gladly have my soul tortured in a hell dimention for a millenia (earth equivalent to 7 seconds) to come back as a summoner, think Dante but he can summon the bosses to fight alongside him the stronger he gets the better weps, armour, beasts

I think Alex Mercer's infection would've made him one of the luckiest (anti)heroes in gaming history if only his game wasn't such an unpolished turd.

Gantz from Gantz, seriously, invincibility, the ability to immediately save and/or teleport yourself or another plus full resurrection, immediate and complete healing powers, create the insanest weapons, supersuits, invisibility/detector units and be able to screw with people! that's superpowers, but if he's a protagonist remains to be seen.
