So I had this pre-ordered on the PS4, but I decided to sign up for EA Access so I could check this out early on XB1. I hear the game is nearly identical on both platforms.

In the end, I decided to cancel my pre-order.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good game. Great graphics, better presentation, and an improved defense for sure. I think what turned me off from this game is the overall business model.

Our current options for purchasing are as follows:

Option 1 - XB1 Digital (with EA Access Discount)$53.99 + Tax or $59.99 without EA Access
Option 2 - XB1 Physical Copy - $59.99 + Tax
Option 3 - PS4 Digital or Physical Copy - $59.99 + Tax

We have no idea when Madden 15 will be added to the EA Vault, but more than likely it would be after the football season. It seems as if a digital copy at $53.99 would be the best deal, but then I'm thinking after a few months I may be able to get $25 trade in value on a physical copy. What does everyone think? How do you plan to purchase it? Also, if you know of any non-trade related deals on this game please share.

I suppose first off, I'd be absolutely shocked if you could get $25 for Madden 25 in about two weeks.

On Amazon, Madden 25 for the Xbox One is currently $15 new. This is before the new edition comes out, which would drop the value of Madden 25 even more...

Since you're an American, this is the deal that I used (Note: I used it for the 360) and is the best deal I could find. I assume you would have access to the same deal at Best Buy but it expires today (August 23rd) so if you're interested, you'd have to jump immediately)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/games-promotions/madden-nfl/pcmcat335100050016.c?id=pcmcat335100050016&pageType=REDIRECT&issolr=1&searchterm=Madden%2015

The quick run-down is that Best Buy will take your trade-in for the game ($15 for the 360 or $25 for the One). Maybe you'd find something better but that trade-in was the best deal I could find and you can use it for your game.

You then get a $10 coupon to use when you pick the game up.

You then get a $10 reward zone certificate (RZ is free to sign up for).

So for the 360 edition, I paid $50 up front when I traded Madden 25 in. I will receive $10 back when I pick the game up and I will receive another $10 back in a month or so when the RZ certificate comes, ultimately making my game $30 when trading in a game that I will never play again once 25 comes out.

Personally, until it demonstrates otherwise, I am staying the hell away from the EA Vault. Maybe EA will prove me wrong but I have no reason to believe that it will give me a good deal using it.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure it'll be necessary but just in case...
