So I recently bought a PS3 (which I'm loving), and I'm trying to round out my gaming library for the system. I was thinking about buying MAG, but with Halo Reach right around the corner, I'm trying to decide if it's going to be worth my while. How similar are the two games, and are they different enough to have them both?

I'd get Reach. It's the closest a console game is every going to be have to full blown PC modding. The closest we'll ever get...

You cant really compare the two. But if you want some good games, check the PSN or XBLA.
Trials HD, Shadow Complex, and I hear nothing but good things about the Scott Pilgrim game.

It's fun enough. It's really nothing like Halo. The closest thing I can compare it to is Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, except with slightly better graphics and large scale matches.

I would get MAG, but I haven't logged into MAG in a while so do not know how active the community is anymore. It was great a few months back, so doubt it has crashed in this short a time.

MAG is not a fun game.

I was really excited when this game was coming out, and I picked it up the moment I bought my PS3. This was a big mistake.

The only thing that this game does well is the fact that it doesn't lag when you're playing with 256 people. Unfortunately, everything else about the game is lackluster.

Despite having 128 people to a team, everything about the game is boring. The objectives are boring, the weapons are boring, and there's very little actual skill involved in the actual gameplay.

Don't be fooled by the huge player count, the game is uninspired and uninteresting, and you should let it pass by. There are some better shooters on the PS3, like Resistance 2, so I suggest you get one of those.
Couldn't have put it better myself. MAG was such a huge disappointment and didn't hold a candle up to games like Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.

You will get more gameplay time out of Reach, that's for sure. I haven't played MAG but from what I've heard it is not that great.

They both quite diffrent, battles in MAG seem much more big but Reach has jetpacks. It dosn't really matter which one you get it as long as your happy.

You, sir, is what is wrong with the gaming community. Don't play either. Go and buy Shadow of the Collosus (Just woke up, my spelling is bad because of it)
