Pretty self explanatory, the MaineHealth hospital network is facing it's nurses forming a union. They've brought in union busting firms to stop it of course, but they went against CDC guidlines and slapped those workers in the face by vaccinating the corporate suits before the nurses themselves, who are actually treating COVID patients. They've also vaccinated all their administration staff that don't have to deal with COVID patients ahead of the front liners as well.

As far as I'm concerned, any action that puts financial distress on the people who run these networks is a good action.

Capitalism in a perfect nutshell

We hold your livelihood (and in this case, that might literally be your life) so you better dance like the good little monkey you are. DANCE MONKEYS!!! DANCE FOR YOUR QUARTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm relatively sure that there isn't any legal action that can be taken against them for doing this but there really really really should be. Times like this where I wish I believed in Hell because a lot of people involved here should also get to jump the queue to get there...

How are there not laws in place about the rollout of this vaccine to ensure that first responders and frontline medical staff are given priority over corporate interests?

Now, maybe I can hope for some West Virginian miners to go on strike and the government to send in military contractors and bomber aircraft to break the strike? Because that's apparently how far the US has regressed.
To be fair, I think the Biden administration would be pretty happy for the miners to go on strike and decrease coal production as it might push towards renewables.

Also, perhaps why West Viginia votes Republican, unless the Democrats push for WV to have a burgeoning wind farm industry to suppotr job generation.

Capitalism
Fake news. Plenty of capitalist countries have rules about the rollout of the Covid vaccines. It's not because some shitty Hospital handles things in a shitty way in the US "Capitalism" is to blame. Especially since I do not see how this impacts the bottom line of the hospital.

Capitalism doesn't make this level of abuse inevitable. It just makes it more likely by incentivising it.

This shit hole country has it's entire health care system under a Capitalist thumb.

Why people are shocked that the rich and famous are line jumping and that companies are using it to beat their workers into submission when our entire Health Care System is built on fucking over the poor is baffling to me.

Shit, the fact that they're not setting up an auction house and making people bid on getting the vaccine is far more shocking to me than this story...

MainHealth sure seems like a nice organization. Union Breakers, flaunting recommendations on Covid vaccine prioritization and going against CDC guidelines. It is good to see that the 2020's is starting off just like the 1920's. Now, maybe I can hope for some West Virginian miners to go on strike and the government to send in military contractors and bomber aircraft to break the strike? The Pinkerton Detective Agency still exists, and Amazon's workers just started unionizing. We can start getting some good old fashioned union leader assassinations before 2023.

Because American society despises regulations that protect people, because we have a deep and depraved need to have "winners" to cheer and "losers" to jeer.
