For instance
In Modern Warfare 3, Soap and Price are wanted for terrorism after the events of MW2. Now what if, instead of the ending we got, it ended with soap and price being captured and executed. That would've made for a more powerful ending, seeing that the Modern Warfare games are trying REALLY HARD to be dramatic. So if you have an idea for how you would end a game you like, shoot.

*frowns*

I made this thread a while ago. Thread stealer ;)

OT: exactly what i said in my thread:

Gurgleflob said:
I've been witnessing a lot of fan outrage at the mass effect 3 ending (never played that series myself, it's never appealed to me.), and I was wondering if anyone has any better endings than what the developers put out. Silliness encouraged, please try to stay away from mass effect because that horse has been beaten hard enough to cause hydrogen fusion.

For me, it's the end of journey:

when your nomad dude collapsed in the snow, the game should have ended. Seriously, that was perfect. I didn't need that happy little fly around, I would have remembered the game that much more if it had ended right there.

FFX/X-2:
Tidus stays dead/whatever. Bringing him back kind of ruined any emotional impact of the ending.

FF9:
Monkey boy living. It should have ended when he's trying to save Kuja.
A noble warrior dying because he wanted to do the right thing.

The inquisition not being a bunch of pricks. I mean he did just kill a daemon prince with his almost bare hands. Throw him a party, give him a parade. Not threaten to kill him and everyone he knows if he doesn't go with them right now, damn inquisition

Oh no, I don't like where this thread has the potential to go. At least Gurgleflob had the good sense to post his warning for us.

Persona 4, literally just add a scene where the main character kisses Naoto goodbye at the train station. Fucking want, I love that girl <3

Oh and time to call ME3, the absolute perfect example of a botched ending to an otherwise great piece of media. I feel like them pulling a Gurren Lagann style "too manly to be defeated" ending battle is more believeable, more in-character for Shep and even more in-line with the overall theme of the game.

"You will never understand us organics Reapers! We don't give a damn about your plans for extermination! Shepard's drill will pierce the heavens, the earth and onto tomorrow! GET OFF MY PLANET KIIIICKK"

*sigh*

All this talk of ME3 is making me depressed again... You know what helps depression?

Some HECARIM!

Dragon Age 2:

If you have high enough persuasion and influence with both factions, you can convince Anders not to blow up the chantry. Talking with the reverend mother and reaching a compromise becomes an option.

Orsino seems like a semi sane guy, right up until the end where out of absolutely nowhere he goes hurga blurga and turns into a crazy abomination. Undoing in an instant all that I had worked for. And instead of actually helping against the Templars he just turns on me. I wish that there'd be at least one other non-blood mage besides me when the game ends, you should be able to talk Orsino out of it and into joining you in the fight against Meredith.

FF7 . Cloud dies
FF8. Squall dies
FF9. Zidane dies
FF12 Vaan dies
FF13 Lightining dies .

JUST FOOLING.

OT: i got nothing . I can barely remember any game endings vividly enough to want to change them . I do remember that i wish there was an epilogue in dark souls , just like an ending cinematic like there was an opening cinematic .

Skyrim:

What the fuck, Skyrim? I kill Alduin, avert the apocalypse, and spend the rest of my free time running across the land saving your asses from dragons, and all I get for thanks is a few guards telling me I'm pretty cool? You should be giving me your crown jewels or something, or at least give me some credit for your city's stores so I can buy some new shit every time a FUCKING DRAGON makes me use up some potions or items.

And pretty much every ending for every mission and quest line. I just wanted to join the Dark Brotherhood and kill some people, I didn't want to be the "Listener" or their leader. And the same goes with the Thieves' guild. And the Champions. And the Mage's College.

In SotC, Wander DIES. Right after you kill the guy with the mask. Also, the bridge doesn't get destroyed, so that you know that your lady friend can leave the land of the Colossi, rather than being stuck in fucking magical nature garden.

I agree with both of those. Except remove Naoto and replace with Chie. Fully agree with the Mass Effect 3 one, I was surprised they didn't go with Shepard killing reapers with his fist thing.

For me....SPOILERZX by the way.

Mass Effect 3 - Shepard fights and then punches Harbinger in the face, leading to his death and the death of all the reapers. Earth is SAVED!

Fallout New Vages - After destroying all of C-Douches Legion and the Legate, The courier goes on to becoming the true master of the NCR and brotherhood, pulling strings behind the scenes.

Fallout 3 (With DLC) - The lone wonderer becomes Commander of the Wasteland BHoS and eradicatea ALL evil in the land.

Fable 3 - Save everyone and get a decent boss battle.

Fable 2 - An Actual epic boss battle.

Skyrim - Dragonborn becomes KING OF THE PLANET!

Oblivion - Your guy becomes...KING OF THE UNIVERSE! (Also Dovah is his grandson)

I'm a genius! xD

Or not...

Mass effect 3. At the end shepard leads what is left of the races in a flotila into deep space ala Battlestar
Got a better one:

Shepard arrives one the Citadel, sees the Illusive man and punches his face off. Then he meets the Godchild and shuts the little brat up by kicking everything in sight until it keels over from sheer terror. Then, Shepard singlehandedly beats all the Reapers by headbutting them into submission.

Afterwards, Garrus is like "WTF bro!" and then they go to get insanely drunk on ryncol with Wrex, Grunt, Vega and Zaeed, using one of Harbingers claws as a drinking cup. Kaidan can sit on the sidelines to watch.

Starcraft 2.

Tychus doesn't go along with Mengsk's plan. Mengsk orders him to shoot Kerrigan, but instead, Findlay just stands there and says "what did you think would happen if you let an untrustworthy convict loose? He'd listen to you?"

Myst IV: If we could just retcon all the crazy that happens starting with the sentence "You'll need to enter the dream world"...

Maybe replace it with a telescope puzzle to give you the location of the final showdown, and replace the pretty hilarious ending sequence (complete with brain-sucking chair of doooooom) with a lock puzzle. Cliche? Yes. Better than falling into dream world as Peter Gabriel sings a calming song about curtains? Also yes.

I really wish I could say I would re-write HL3, or at least HL2: Episode 3. Alas, not available.

Star Ocean 3

I'm...not really sure what I would do, but that ending just felt so rushed. Like they ran out of time, or ideas. I'm specifically referring to the very end bit, where

Fayt and everyone are just hanging out in white wash land with the good ole "ghost in the machine' trope bashing everyone over the head.

I actually liked everything leading up to that(I know a lot of fans blast the fuck out of the whole last half of the game, but for me that's where it got interesting) so if something, anything could be done to that ending, it would be an improvement.

At the end of Republic Commando:
Instead of leaving one of your squadmates behind to die,
I shed a single manly tear when Sev died
you disobey orders and rush to save him, culminating in a heroic last stand where your squad fends off thousands of Geonosian drones, but ultimately perish, sort of like the ending of Halo Reach.

I'd have actually bothered to write a god damn ending.

Dead Island

As if that game wasn't a pile of dogshit anyway, the ending renders absolutely everything you've done up until that point meaningless when you just abandon all the people you spent the game rescuing and helping.

I think it would have been far more satisfying if the last few missions had seen you leaving the helicopter behind and instead going around the island, setting up explosives you'd got from the army guys at the end, preparing to torch every inch of the island.

Along the way, you'd not only be facing off against zombies and militia but, also, the safehouse NPC's you'd been working with all through the game, who now refused to face the reality that they were all going to die anyway and would constantly attack you to stop the purge.
