So, earlier on tonight, I was on public transport, and there was a drunken asshole being racist. I called him on it, loudly. I made a bit of a scene, and then he was kicked off.
I never used to say anything when people were publicly racist. I just used to sit there, and then I would feel like a coward afterward. So now, I say things. I tell them to shut up. I'm not really afraid of public spectacle, or shouting.
What do you do? Do you just hope it stops by itself when people start making a scene in public? Do you get involved? Do you wish you could get involved, but could never pluck up the courage?
