Making an Accessible Fighting Game - would people care?

It's a rather lengthy article, but it addresses something that I think all gamers, hardcore or not, can benefit from: a fighting game for all to enjoy.

I'm not going to bother reading the article since advertising links is wrong + the article is put into a bunch of small chunks.

I will say this though, isn't super smash brothers a fighting game which basically anyone can pick up and understand in only a few minutes?
