'Kay so I pride myself on being a manly man of great heterosexual manliness who is attracted to women, watches all sorts of fucked up lesbian porn on the inter-webs, has all of his wallpapers on each electric device he owns as an attractive female celebrity and has a crush on a classmate who looks better than all her friends which is why I've been quite concerned ever since I developed a massive crush on the lead singer from the scissor sisters. It's not that I think there is anything wrong with being attracted to guys it's just... It's never really been a thing for me before...

I'm not homophobic or anything I just want to know if this is a normal occurence and who better to ask than the manly men and womanly women of the escapist. So, is there anyone here who shares in my... er... thing(?) and if so can you give advise?

(Sorry if this comes of as offensive but i'm in my teens meaning I'm yet to develop any natural grace or subtly...)

We all know that it isn't manly to be with women as most women are not manly hence why manly men should only have sex with men to increase the manliness in the room. That being said what if manliness is a negative so having sex with a guy just makes you positive which is feminine in gender maths so maybe you need to stay away from this person to keep your manly status of being manly.

It's obvious.

Here is one of the bizarre thing about the idea of "MANLINESS" is that it is supposed to be though but is so fragile. So "be a man" and accept that this bizarrely fragile definition of manliness is... well... unmanly. Except a more varied definition and move on.

Doesn't the lead singer from the Scissors Sisters look quite feminine anyway?

Anyway, it's perfectly normal to be attracted to those "exceptions"? I'm a heterosexual teenage boy who has occasionally looked another male and found him attractive. Just like there are heterosexual girls who've looked other girls and found them attractive.

But I should inform you that muscular gay men are probably the manliest men in the world, since, as Matthew94, it's a man-only activity dominated by men who are only interested in the awesome manliness of other men.

I think I've said the word "man" too many times.

Pfft, nothing is more manly than noting how attractive another man is.

Just look at the guy!

ok, I'm not going down the manly man being manly route.... It totally fine and normal to have a crush on a guy, we all have our strange moments, now be a man and stop bitching. Also, just for the record watching fucked up lesbian porn does not make you a man.

this maybe sounds like flaming, I'm just trying to keep the testosterone high though.

You like girls, or you're over compensating, decide which one it is and be done with it, if it's just a kink in your sweaty six pack armour.

Nothing to worry about.

If it helps, as a girl I'm far more turned on by the idea of a guy fancying a guy than being all YEAH BOOBS AND LESBIANS AND ELECTONICS YEAH!

After all, would you be attracted to a woman who was all I WANT TO SEE GAY GUYS SCREW! DICKS AND SHOES AND HANDBAGS YEAH!

I dunno, maybe you would... but most guys seem to get excited when a girl fancies another girl so, it's sort of the same thing...

The manly man thing was a joke... Because I am not manly... As was the lesbian porn thing... This wasn't supposed to be serious... It was supposed to be a light hearted thing... As for the decide which one question I decide the lead singer from scissor sisters because bro... I'd tap dat (down) over Megan Fox any day...

I mean who wouldn't?

Damn straight.
If you aren't at least partially attracted to Isiah Mustafa, then something is gravely wrong and the end is nigh.

OT: It happens. Don't label yourself as anything, it's what I do.
If you find yourself attracted to someone you wouldn't expect yourself to be attracted to, just let it be.
And to be fair, Jake Shears is a total babe.

You think Jake Shears is attractive though you're straight?

Yes something is really wrong here, dude. I'm sorry there's no way to break it to you, but you are messed up in the head.

How could you be attracted to the admittedly handsome Shears when the ADORABLE Del Marquis is standing beside him?!

Serious-face answer that makes me look smart: Kinsey's Scale is an admittedly simplistic but still very insightful look at sexuality. Google it. Basically it says that very few people are 100% gay or 100% straight.
Picture it as a scale from 0-6.
0 = Straight
6 = Gay
3 = Bisexual

So a lot of people are 1-2 or 4-5, meaning straight with gay tendencies or gay with straight tendencies. It's pretty common and means very little. It's just that people don't generally admit stuff like that so it seems like everyone is 100% one side or the other.

So much agree. The day she will quit "acting" (not that what she does is acting but more like camerawhoring) is the day i will hang out the flag and celebrate.

Also no man is smexier then Nathan Fillion.

I agree with both of those points. I think Megan Fox is only thought highly of because of how attractive she is, but in any other aspect she doesn't really have much going for her.

I saw this beyond cute girl at school. Only it was a guy. But he was damn well trying to hide it. Dresses, short styled hair, black leggings, this awesome red jacket that goes really well with the black leggings. The works.

Whatever, HE is still pretty damn cute. I'm still, well, manly enough to be called a man.
