I quite like this as a different take on all the ipad frothing [http://speirs.org/blog/2010/1/29/future-shock.html].
Personally, given that one of the big arguments against it was been 'OMG no Flash', I would quite happily see Flash disappear in favour of an open standard that anyone can support/improve/etc (and I use Flash a fair bit, and overall, enjoy using it).
Also, considering that the vast majority of what I (and presumably many other people) do with a computer these days is consumption of media rather than production, the keyboard issue isn't really that big of a deal.
My opinion on all the ranting and raving is that it stems from the same sort of source as why there's a lot of criticism of the Wii, and that is that people wanted something for them and were disappointed when it appeared that it was not for them after all.
