Mass Effect 2 pc Save Import Utility

Hi all,
A couple of days ago I read something on a forum about the Mass Effect 2 pc Save Import Utility that said if you start up Mass Effect 2 pc and use the Save Import Utility your Mass Effect 1 save won't show up for import and to get around this you have to launch Mass Effect 2 but not run the Save Import Utility get to the main menu exit then copy your ME1 post-game save file to the relevant ME2 folder then run Mass Effect 2 and the Save will show up for import.So is this true?

Interesting timing as i just reinstalled both games.

assuming PC for this and windows 7 and both mass effect 1 and 2 are origin installs

-go into program files, origin games, mass effect 2, binaries, and run MassEffect2Config
-click saved games, copy mass effect saved games
-in the window that pops up, go to documents, bioware, mass effect and click on the save games folder
under the mass effect 2 tab at the top click save settings and exit

start mass effect, new game, import save game and ta da
