Seems to me they decided to stick to their guns, call themselves artists and tell the cry babies to shove it, which as an artist myself can respect. While at the same time at least give something in return in the form of cutscenes that seems likely to still be weak sauce... anyone hoping that the original ending was some dream like indoctrination thing must really over estimate bioware's current level of forthought or interest... no matter how much we wished it were true.

I SAY IT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING!

So discuss, critique, complain, cry, opinionate, express.... etc!

Several threads relating to this already where you could have had a passive agressive bash at people who weren't happy at the ending.

Ahhh well. I already sold my copy of ME3 back to Tesco so I suppose adding more cutscenes will give me a few minutes of something to watch on youtube.

I didn't think they would change the ending.

What is this "artist" nonsense? It's a game made by a team of people, like a Hollywood movie, except that they didn't "stick to their guns" and decided to add to the game.

As I pointed out elsewhere, the main problem is that the C&Cs don't significantly affect the ending, and to fix that without modifying the game they will have to add additional missions, leading to another ending.

But because I think gamers will become more angry if they charged for the addition, it looks logical to instead add cut scenes and offer them for free.

I wasn't happy with the ending either myself, but not to the point of wanting it completely changed, just explained. I think its cool the they didnt bend over and take it (not that 90% of the people who made it had any say I think), but at the same time would have liked to see something more than just some cutscenes that were probably originally in the game before hitting the cutting room floor. Blame the game's lead creative dictators for this genuis twist of logic...

They call it artwork just to defend themselves and their creation (lead guys at boiware and not the people making it, backed by every game journo it seems), the extent of it being that is debatable of course. Calling it an 'extended cut' is the cop out, like they think its on par with a movie... funny. They said they wouldnt create anything 'new' to change the ending, hence the added cut scenes as mentioned earlier. They did kinda stick to their guns, barely. I get what you are saying though.

In the end free is good and I'm happy I got something at least, hopefully giving the explanation and closier I personally wanted.
