Welcome to the new ME:RP.
For the uninitiated the Mass Effect universe is set in the year 2150, were Humanity has discovered the ruins of an ancient space-faring race called the Protheans. The data from these ruins allowed Humanity to master FTL travel, find the mass relays, master the power of dark energy and biotics, and enter the stage of intergalactic politics.
You are apart of a mercenary company operating out of Omega, know as the Aegis Protection Firm. Aegis is a relatively small mercenary force. Formed a little over a year ago, the company has had success on its prior contracts, and has been growing in renown around Omega. It focus?s mainly on Security and Smuggling operations.
The head of the company is a Batarian named Verahl. Verahl has worked as a mercenary for almost the past three decades, and now organizes contracts and operations for his company. He seldom accompanies his employees on their missions, usually staying back at their headquarters organizing their next mission contract or determining what its next step will be. However, those that have doubted their capability in combat haven?t gotten the chance to critique it further. He?s a tactician and strategist, always thinking every move through before committing to it.

Name: Verahl
Gender: Male
Race: Batarian
Age: 48
Appearance: Verahl has a dark and light brown complexion, common amongst most Batarians, with his face taking a lighter tone then the rest of his head. A small car does extend across his right cheek, but isn?t too noticeable. His armor is decorated black and orange, with a decal of their logo on both of his shoulders.
Class: Soldier
Powers: Armor Piercing Ammo, Adrenaline Rush, Disrupter Ammo, Combat Mastery (Commando)
Pre-Service Record:
Verahl has been working as a mercenary since he was 19. He has spent most of these years with several different mercenary groups, including the Blue Suns. He had work as a slaver in his mid twenties, and often tries to not mention it in conversation and tries to change topics when confronted about it.
Psychological Profile:
Verahl is a tactician. He thinks every move through thoroughly before committing to it. Because of this careful and strategic planning, Verahl rarely makes a mistake and leads his company quite well. He mostly uses words to get what he wants but is not afraid to use a gun to help the process. He is afraid and troubled by little anymore after nearly three decades of work. He believes he?s seen almost every kind of scum bag this universe has to offer and is hardly affected anymore because of it. He is not known to laugh, but does have a decent sense of humour and irony. However, he hates taking attitude from anyone, and often comes down hard on anyone who directly disobeys his orders or talks back.
Notes: Verahl wears heavy grey and orange armor, with the company emblem decorating his right shoulder. He carries a M-76 Revenant, M-27 Scimitar, and an M-6 Hand Cannon and occasionally a ML-77 Missile Launcher or a M-451 Firestorm when the situation permits.

Name: Marcus Flint
Alias: Raven
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 39
Appearance: Short Black Hair with beard, numerous facial scars. Wears red and black n7 armor with Raven logo along the back. Armor is damaged and dented in numerous place from gunfire.
Class: Vanguard
Powers: Lift, Throw, Barrier, Nemesis Specialization
Pre-Service Record: Born into a colony on the fringe of citadel space, Marcus lived a normal life until the age of 7 when he was conscripted into jump zero. Surviving the intense mental and physical conditioning that came with being a human biotic, Marcus joined the Alliance at 16. By the age of twenty he had reached the rank of captain in a black ops squad. On one mission he was set to take the fall but instead killed the rest of his squad including his commanding officer and fled.
During the next few years, he started making a name for himself as a mercenary. Working several high risk jobs in a few years though made it so C-Sec and other police agencies have a growing dossier on him. Eventually, at their request to the Council, a Spectre was tasked to kill him.
The Spectre eventually found Marcus on a human colony at the edge of their space. They had a long drawn out fight, each taking many blows. The Spectre finally gained the upper hand on Marcus though, but fortune favored him that day instead. A damaged gas line to the building they were in exploded, causing the building to collapse. Marcus was able to pull himself from the rubble and looked back seeing the Spectre nowhere. He stumbled towards a local hospital, and demanded the doctors help him at gun point. After some brief surgery, closing up of most of his wounds, and giving him enough painkillers to numb almost every sense Marcus had, he quickly fled to the spaceport. He had no idea where to go, but when he saw a cargo ship that was listed as on the way to the Terminus System, he managed to stow away there, and escape Council Space. Once the ship landed, Marcus took up the alias 'Raven', and tried to leave his old life behind him. In the Terminus System, far from the reach of the Citadel and C-Sec, he set up a new life for himself.
He was later picked up by a Drell assassin who offered him a partnership in his mercenary company. Under their combined leadership the Crimson Wraith as they were called became a force in the Terminus System. Unfortunately he was betrayed and his partner was killed during the escape. With his partner dead, he began working by himself, taking up assassination contracts and other jobs. Recently however, he was recruited into a small mercenary group named Aegis, and has been workign with them since.
Psychological Profile: Marcus is very ruthless in his work, however his time with the drell taught him great respect for the dead. He will do anything short of sacrificing his men to get the job done and has a near perfect record of closing contracts. He carefully plans out each job and leaves his stylized raven marker at each job closing.
Notes: Wanted for the murder of an Asari Matriarch, the massacre of the mercenary group Crimson Wraith, and the death of a Council Spectre sent to arrest him. Marcus is known to be proficient in the use of explosives, sniper rifles, shotguns, pistols, and heavy weapons. He also carries a large bowie knife.

Name: Basara Lier
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 25
Appearance: 6'8", with raven colored hair and ice cold blue eyes. A scar cuts his left eyebrow in half. Basara is muscular, due to years' worth of slavery. He also has a crosshair shaped scar on his left hand. Basara wears the Colossus IX heavy armor.
Class: Soldier
Powers: Adrenaline Rush, Concussive Shot, Carnage, Shield Boost.
Pre-Service Record: Two years after the Alliance had finally allowed human colonization on Virmire, Basara's parents moved there, joining the colonization effort. They lived happily for 14 years on their paradise world, until the raid. Batarian slavers came, destroying the entire village and taking him to sell in the Terminus Systems. He was worked like a dog, working in the Element Zero mines, growing stronger and stronger. He finally broke into where they kept their weapons and stole a heavy pistol. He slaughtered each and every one of the slavers. He stole a ship keeping the slaver pilot at gunpoint, somehow managing to land it on the Asari home world. A single scream rang out as the ship landed. The Asaris stormed the ship only to find Basara, his brutal claw covered in blood and a corpse by his feet, ripped to shreds. He was detained until an Alliance General freed him, asking him his story. Basara told the general his past, and showed the pistol and claw, both covered in blood. The General brought him back to the Citadel, where he decided to make a life out of death.

He is quiet and encased in a rock hard mental shell he has projected around himself to protect his feelings. He is able to kill without feeling, having seen what happens in the Terminus systems and has picked up their lack of respect for life.

Captainguy42
Name: Yossar Terreg
Race: Turian
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Appearance: He stands at 6'2" tall, and is fairly lanky for a Turian. His face is considered fairly attractive by Turian standards, with green eyes and reddish brown scales, his face paint starts with two white lines above his eyes that broaden as they move out then and then split, one line turning up with a sharp angle and continuing along the head flanges, the other turning down more gently and ending in points on his cheeks. His two center head flanges are missing, cut with a knife half way up.
Class: Adept
Powers: Throw, Pull, Warp, and Shock wave
Pre-Service Record:
Grew up on Palaven, his father was a merchant, his mother was a "Lifer" in the military. Entered the military when he was 15 like most Turians, against his father's wishes who wanted to use connections to keep him out. Spent two years in basic until his biotic powers manifested from there he was transferred into Biotics training. In biotics he quickly excelled past his peers despite having a late start, a feat that assured the development of a cocky ego. After training he began his tour of duty, which would take him throughout Citadel and Terminus space for the most part operating as a part of Cabals. During this time his superiors remarked that he was a perfect soldier, competent, never refused or questioned orders, always eager to fight. The most personally important mission he was on was Mehin, which he lead at age 35, an operation to clear out Quarian squatters turned terrorists who were assaulting a settlement outpost. The mission was a disaster. Intelligence had reported there would be not anti-aircraft weaponry but as soon as their ships hit atmosphere AA batteries shot them out of the sky. Yossar was the only one to survive the barrage and subsequent crash. Command listed him MIA, most likely KIA, and abandoned him. For two years Yossar fought to survive on what turned out to be one of the most viscous garden planets in Citadel space. Eventually he was seen by a survey probe, and then picked up. After Mehin Yossar continued to serve in the army but his attitude seemed to take a dramatic change. While he always carried out orders he never failed to question his CO afterwards about the necessity of the order. Overtime he grew dissatisfied with life in the military, at 39 he applied and received and honorable discharge and left for the Terminus systems soon afterwards.
Psychological Profile:
A Turian soldier to the core, Yossar will never hesitate to carry out an order that is given to him whatever it is. However if he disagrees with an order he will also never hesitate to ask his superior why it was given, mostly so that he can clear his own conscience. That's the way Yossar is, initially he seems like a stone cold killer, but upon further inspection it's easily seen that he does care about things. Yossar also gas a habit of testing people, he rarely asks forward questions, rather he will give people unrelated question or tests and then judge them on their answers, a habit which has been criticized several times. Ever since Mehin Yossar has been one for thinking outside of the box, tending to improvise when he can.

Crayzor
Name: Thayna
Gender: Female
Race: Asari
Age: 183
Appearance: Thayna is of average height and her skin is a slightly lighter tone than most asari. She has white markings decorating her face and is rather slight.
Class: Adept
Powers: Biotic Mastery, Throw, Slam, Pull.
Pre-Service Record: Thayna was born on the asari colony of Illium. Her 'father' was a turian ex-soldier, and, as a result, she was often told military stories when she was young. This left her with a strong interest in joining the military. At the age of 30, she moved to Thessia to begin training as a huntress. She spent the next 40 years honing her abilities, especially her biotics. However, as she was still early in her maiden stage, she grew restless in the role of a soldier and left the military, seeking out adventure in the Terminus Systems. From there, she drifted from gang to gang, being involved in all manner of activities, some legal, some not. In 2185, she heard about the power vacuum on Omega and decided it would be interesting to be involved in the struggles for power that were bound to take place there.
Psychological Profile: Barely half way through her maiden stage, Thayna is arrogant and self confident. She has full faith in her own abilities, while at the same time being dismissive of others. However, this can easily shift if an individual shows her their own skill. She prefers acting on the spur of the moment than following a plan.
Notes: Thayna wears Light Mercenary Armour, and carries an M-3 Predator and an M-9 Tempest.

Notes: Thayna wears Light Mercenary Armour, and carries an M-3 Predator and an M-9 Tempest.

Name: Dolog Meer
Gender: Male
Race: Krogan
Age: 617
Appearance: Stands at average height for a Krogan, though the hump is noticeably larger than is the usual. His skin is a dark tan, with a contrasting crest of a silver-ish gray.
Class: Soldier
Powers: Adrenaline Rush, Concussive Shot, Disruptor Ammo, Combat Mastery
Pre-Service Record: Meer comes from a small clan of Krogan on Tuchanka, recognized amongst other Krogan for having the highest survival rate among the Krogan who take up a combat-heavy career. Meer went through clan Dolog's Rite of Passage at an extremely young age, though the Shaman noted with interest how it had been done. As opposed to the brute strength most attempted, Meer learned to use his environment to his advantage, such as using the stone pillars that littered the grounds to immobilize more stubborn foes. These actions, though looked upon with disdain by the more brutal Krogan, earned him a reputation with others.
However, he had absolutely no biotic potential, so his path as a battlemaster was cut abruptly short. Instead, he decided he would make his fortune on other worlds. He hitched a ride to Omega at the age of 170, leaving an infant son as his only legacy, and has remained there since. He had spent most of his time as security for various organizations that rose and fell as the years went by. After centuries of this routine, he learned that his son had followed him to Omega and signed up with a group known as the Blood Pack. Meer followed his son and joined so he could keep an eye on him. Recently, as he had ascended the ranks of the pack, he realized how corrupt and brutal they were. While brutality did not bother him, he believed he had some integrity, and sought work elsewhere, which led him to Aegis.
Psychological Profile: Meer is at first glance a typical Krogan. Violent, and revels in it. His lust for battle can become a hassle, however, as he refuses to fight anything that cannot put up a good fight. This causes friction between he and the bosses that have attempted to use him for extermination missions.
He is cold and calculating in combat, constantly analyzing his surroundings for a way to tip the fight in his favor. On the rare occasions he asks someone for an even fight, the chances are that he's cheated in a way you cannot see yet.
He loves to drink, and will down quantities of liquor that will kill lesser Krogan. He becomes rather jovial in this drunken state, and can be quite charismatic.
