Mass Effect Universe

So I was wondering that bioware shouldn't leave alone that world and continue making games based on it.I'll state right away I don't mean cheap Mass Effect 4 segways but totally leave alone Shepard,reapers etc and I don't know move ahead 10000 years and write a plot.I have no idea how ME3 ends regardless of leaks but unless reapers win and eradicate all life known around there is no reason to trash everything once Shepard and co. are gone. I'm not saying this because of just a good/bad idea I have but I always had this feeling there was so much going on around but it had to stop because of Shepard,reapers etc. So yes setting it very far in the future would clear all the remains about everything related to the trilogy.

So I'm asking you guys,is it "allowed" and more so should a serie continue based on it's Universe and not her characters?

They've already said they're going to make more games in the ME universe, and that Shepard would play no part in them. I doubt they're going to go 10,000 years into the future though, because everything would have changed so much that it probably wouldnt be recognisable as the ME universe... more likely 50-100 to allow time for rebuilding after the events of the third game.

I'd rather they left it alone. No chance of that I know, but I don't want to see the Mass Effect series retroactively tainted by inferior spin-offs.

Besides, doesn't matter who the lead is in any future games, they'll never be better than Commander Shepard.

An MMO is fairly likely. I wouldn't be surprised if Mass Effect Universe was the name of it, actually.

I would be really shocked if we didn't see anything else out of the universe. Maybe an FPS! Maybe another RPG series!!! I would love to see a 'KotOR' style game in the ME universe. Whatever they do, I just want to be a Krogan!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing a ME game exploring the initial human contact with the Citadel after discovering the mass relay technology on Mars. Maybe have a game set during the First Contact War.

Or maybe reach further back than that to the Rachni Wars or Krogan Rebellion. Either of those would be a great way to further flesh out all the other ME species without the pesky humans taking center stage as per usual.

Further to my last, I think it would be hard to follow up on the Shepard trilogy if the next ME game took place after it. When an ancient race of sentient A.I. aliens is attempting to eradicate the galaxy of all organic life, how can anything after that be as epic? I think delving in to the rich history established in the codexes from the trilogy would be sweet.
