Mass effect:what is the worst thing the franchise could turn it into?

I just posted on the topic of if mass effect would make a good mmo.And people were generaly for the idea in a sense of were it expands the universe but ultimatly ruins it.

So I thought what is the worst possible direction they could take mass effect in after number three?I came up with two of my worst which are

:cart racer
:click and point adventure/text game

so what do you guy's think could go wrong?

A shooter. No wait. That's happened. But...there are worse things, actually.

It could be like Mr. Driller, but for mineral hunting.

No wait. That'd be fucking amazing. Mineral hunting turning into Mr. Driller.

I'd buy that.

But the worst it could do is become a sports game, really. Because the Mass Effect universe doesn't seem to have any sports besides BLOODSPORT.

A Railshooter. Click and point adventure I think would be awesome, we ran out of those, and I've already beaten The Dig and Monkey Island too many times, need a new one. >_<

i'd say anything, if they keep milking it past 3. it's a great game series, but eventually they'll run out of interesting ideas.

Ill say rail shooter too. Picked up Dead Space 2 last month and found it had Extraction on it for free. Along with Killzone 3 i got a Move controller and tried it out. It was one of only two games that suceeded in boring me to date.

Then theres turn-based rpgs. Which the other of only two games to bore me came from.

..if they wasted all the good writers Bioware has by setting them to write independent side-stories that you basically would be able to ignore in the main game if you wanted to.

..oh, wait...

No, I got it. If they took a really cool vehicle from the first game out of the second game - but kept the boring mining segments. That would be really bad.

Or, if they changed the soundtrack style from a dark Babylon 5 meets Flash Gordon - and on to whining synthetic choirs. That too would be pretty bad.

I don't play ME games for the gameplay. And probably not that many people do.

They should focus on story rather than gameplay, but the worst thing it could become is a fan-service romance fest.

As stargate universe learned, soap opera dramatics does not equal good story telling, i want to explore the universe, not play Days of Our Lives the game

Really? I think an RTS could work. Controlling fleets of ships against Collector ships and Reapers in space would be pretty cool.
