Hello Escapist. I have had some huge pc problems lately and I would like to know if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction. 4-5 mouths back pc was all fine and dandy untill it suddenly started reseting it's self on rare times. Fair enough, I could live with it. A few months later this resetting business got out of hand and I couldn't go on my pc for longer than 30mins before it rest it's self. I have done several things laity and still no change. I replaced the motherboard, RAM, Processor, hard dive. Because my pc was still resetting I thought I would reset windows. Now... Windows will not install propley and I can't even use it. Any ideas guys?

Hmmmm...

Called tech support? Asked a technician?

If all else fails there are forums dedicated to solving these problems, im not 'go away', i just think they could help you a hell of a lot better than us here at the escapist.

I dunno, I'll do what my parents always do and say 'You got a virus, didn't you?'

Have you replaced the graphics card as well? Had a smiliar problem a few years ago and it turned out the GPU had overheated.

Ahh. Let me try to rack my brains here. I got a gigabyte mother bored from PC world lately. Can't remember what model. 1gb sick of ddr2 Siemens, Can't remember what the processor was now. I got it in a bundle when I got the first mother bored before gigabyte motherbored. I got it from Ma plans. I know that much.

Maybe your video card is faulty? That could cause the problem as a computer error to do with the GPU will force the computer to restart or shutdown in most cases.

Hmmm, well download CPUZ, CCleaner or AdvancedWindowsCare and if you could post what parts you have from what the programs tell you, that would be great.

Can't download anything I can't even get a operating system working. I've tried Windows XP, Vista and even lynix.

Oh well why not take it into your neighborhood computer shop. Get them to have a look at it, its easier than all this boloxing around in a way.

Yeah. I agree with you on that one. I'll need to magic up some money in the meantime. Hopefully I should be getting EMA and whatnot coming though soon... Looks like I'm stuck to using my dads bad laptop and my friends pc XD.

At least now when you take it to get repaired you have the assurance that it is in safe and capable hands so no more problems (hopefully).

I've heard in the past that if a component is insecure the computer will reset itself, might be worth making sure everything in there is screwed in properly.

Never had it myself, but it is something I've heard said on multiple occassions.

In fact, if your new motherboard is even shaking itself a little loose now and again it could be causing the computer to reset.

Sounds like a short. Could be bad wiring in the case itself or the motherboard could be shorting on the case. Remove the motherboard from the case and start it using a screwdriver or something.

you sir are correct on that, so now i gotta adjust my answer

without seeing how "random" this is or what happens before it crashes and what you've claimed is wrong, it's too hard to say what it is

so as UltraJoe said "go ask a tech" and take it into a shop and let them see it crash. there is simply not enough information for use to give you a good assessment

to use an analogy i've started to use with the "random" crashes issue i see with pc's, you've asked us to find a certain person with the last name of lee that lives in china and has dark hair
