ME 3 EC: the breath scene.

We all knew that today would see several ME 3 threads on the extended cut. But I went onto twitter to see Bioware's responses to peoples reactions, and someone asked about the breath scene in the destroy ending, and Bioware's response was this:

@diomaMS No. Destroy w/ high EMS. Crew lovingly holds his name plate, hesitates & doesn't put it up & fly away (presumably to find him)

So, yeah... This, plus the stargazer scene after the credits ("one more story"), and Bioware telling people to hang on to their ME 3 saves... Idk. Thoughts?

I still have no clue as to why my Shepard burst out taking breath after picking the destroy option. I'm almost entirely paragon with a few renegade choices through out and then the final was Destroy all reapers.

Lets face it we all expected dlc, and some of it would have been out by now if not for the ending backlsh.

Okay so... can you clarify this for me? Is this a change to the game that you don't get cards for maxed-out classes anymore, or are you inferring that you're not playing Multiplayer anymore?

I've never liked the breath scene. It's just an irritating "or did they?" stinger.

If they wanted one of the endings to involve Shepard surviving they should have gone all out with it.

The one thing I noticed when you beat the game it said you can continue to build your legend through downloadable content, but of you beat it with extended cut, it says shepherd is a legend and you can continue to build upon that. No mention of dlc anymore so... I'm feeling doubtful but for gods sake if you did all the missions and loyalty of the 3 games you deserve an ending where
It shows everyone INCLUDING shepherd all relaxing or something not that half a breath shit.

They moded it, so you dont get more class character cards as rares is if you have already gotten all mods for that character class, they will become uncommon.

They also introduced lvl 4 ammo, which seems i will now be gettin instead of the damn character cards.

I seem to remember them putting the name plate on the wall and I DID HAVE the breath scene. Maybe I am going crazy or something, but I do remember the scene being different for the other ending as well.

Guess I need to replay the end once more lol. Pretty sure I was wrong before and I just misinterpreted the scene the first time I watched it. This scene pretty much proves Shepard survives the Destroy ending (with high EMS).

I saw the same scene you are talking about. Where they put Shep's nameplate up, and yet she still took her breath before closing.

I think whether or not Shep's nameplate goes up is determined by your EMS. Maybe... I duno.

Could also be a bug. Liara led the scene for me. It would be kind of weird to have inconsistent EMS for those two scenes since they mean the same thing. I have roughly 4.5k EMS on the Shepard I was playing as and if its any higher than that you would have to have been playing multiplayer relatively consistently or promoted a shit ton of people to get it. Multiplayer should not be necesary for such scenes. Such bullshit.
