I know this is a very common topic but i have an interesting thought on what's going on at the end of ME3 and perhaps yet another DLC money grabber idea.
By now i'm guessing most people have finished ME3, but if you haven't then this contains spoilers for the ending(s) Just a quick warning.
Ok, so i finished my 2nd playthrough today and i finally got the last scene where shepard is lying in the rubble and takes a breath as the last cutscene. For people who haven't seen it, here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prohgapL54Q
I was trying to think of how he could be lying (and breathing) in a pile of rubble since the last we see of him he's standing on the Citadel, which exploded after the crucible beam fired.
Then it hit me, He was dreaming.
Ever since shep seen that kid's shuttle exploding as you leave Earth he's been having dreams about him. It happens a total of 3 times during the game, you're walking (annoyingly) slowly towards a ghostly figure of the child and every time he dies in flames.
How's this related i hear you ask, well... Just after Anderson dies shepard recieves a message from the fleet saying that nothing is happening, he tries to reach the control panel but blacks out and we see him get carried away by a lift.
Next thing you know, we're talking to a ghostly figure of that dead boy who claims to be the catalyst.
I think shepard is still unconscious next to the button, He's dreaming about the catalyst and the child is the link telling us this.
Finally, bringing this full circle, i believe that the scene we see of shepard waking up in rubble is actually shepard waking up on the Citadel after having his dream. And i think that Bioware will release a DLC that allows you to complete the 'true ending' that follows after he wakes up.
Its just a thought... But it would be another way for them to grab more money... With the backlash to the endings that currently exist, i know for a fact they could charge what they like for a new ending and people would throw money at them.
Finally just before anyone comments with a 'You just hate it because it's a non-disney ending!'
I'm actually fine with the endings that exist right now, although i do wish that they had made Multiple endings... rather than 1 ending with a slight change in cutscene length and colour.
Discuss.
