I'm sure most Mass Effect fans will have found out about what can happen if Shepard f***s up. I mean it's almost impossible to not read that that huge spoiler-ridden topic title that claims Shep can lose the fight. And this got me thinking.
I would be devistated if he lost, but then again, why would I change it? I mean the more you bend the story to your perfect out come, the less it feels like a story and more like a game. Though I like it as a game, I always considered it a story, and I'd like to keep it that way. I remember when in Mass Effect 2 Mordin and Zaeed died, and I was shocked. Then my Romance character died and so I restarted the level. Then I got lucky and everyone survived. It would of made a much better ending if half of your squad, including Shep's love interest, were killed in the final battle. Plus, after seeing them all die, it felt "artificial" when they all lived, like a plastic-y perfect ending.
So what ever happens to my Shep, it will forever be written in stone. Even if I replay, what ever out come occures then will never shake off my original ending. It'll be like fantasising a alternative ending, which I'm sure lots of you do once you've read a book, watched a film or played a game. But I digress.
If you got a ending you did not wish for (whether reapers invade or not), will you restart the level and pretend it never happened?
