Back in 2009, I saw a teaser trailer for a new MechWarrior game. But unfortunately, I have not heard ANY information about it since. My dad and I are huge MechWarrior fans, and would love to see this game get released for the Xbox 360 and PC.

So, does anyone know any new info about it or just wanna chat about the MechWarrior series in general?

And in case you were wondering, here's the trailer:

I miss playing mechwarrior games. They were fun. and had giant robots. When youre young and impressionable, fun giant robots leave a considerable mark.

Unfortunately (especially since the trailer is awesome and a new Mechwarrior would be great) it's most likely dead.

There has been no news at all since it's announcement, with the exception of legal trouble arising after the trailer since apperantly used some copyrighted mecha designs without being allowed by the rights holder "Harmony Gold". It's likely that these issues killed the game altogether.

Good times, I recently went out and bought a joystick just to relive the joy of MechWarrior 4, all 3 parts. Vengeance was probably my favorite of all of them. I'd love to see a new MW, it would be amazing.

Man, I've been drooling over this trailer for ages now, what's going on with this game!?? Is it coming out or not? At least they could release some information.

On a related note, what's your favorite mech setup? Mine would have to be a Timberwolf with twin PPCs, twin medium pulse lasers, two LRM10s and tweo LRM 5s. It overheats like abitch, but ain't nothing that can stand in it's way at long range with a well placed volley. The Timberwolf has always been vulnerable because of it's massive cockpit, so my theory always was to cripple them before they even get the chance.

And if you're wondering, I was brought up on Mechwarrior 2, so I'll be damned if I'm gonna call it a Mad Cat.

Bryan at Piranha Games has been tweeting heavily about the new game. You can follow the discussion with the mech-heads at mektek.net in the MechWarrior 3015 forum.

My dad first played MechWarrior2 and stuck with the series through MW4. He joined the mercenary clan Gray Death Legion (based on the GDL in the fiction) and rose the ranks to eventually become its commander. He was known as GDL_Rebel.

It was shortly after he became Cmmr. that he got me to play MW4, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly, due to cheating scumbags, my dad quit a year after he commanded the GDL. He was disappointed that fasa studios wasn't policing the game anymore to ban the cheaters. But in the time that he played, he was one of the best mech pilots there was.

My dad's favorite loadout was a Daishi (nicknamed "The Ventilator") loaded with 4 ER Large Lasers and 2 Clan Gauss Rifles. 2 Alpha Strikes with this setup (effective at 700m) destroyed ANYTHING he came up against. His favorite stock mech was the Highlander; a Assault-class mech with 2 Large Lasers, a Gauss rifle and a Heavy Gauss AND jumpjets? Yes, please.

At any rate, I found MechWarrior 4 to be quite enjoyable, and I really hope this game does get developed/published.
